I guess like most chaps I am a bit of a gadget geek when it comes to the kitchen. I have so much kitchen equipment I still have one HUGE removal box still unpacked in the garage from when I moved to Auckland from Christchurch about 8 years ago.

I moved into my wife's family home which was furnished Polynesian style with hundred of plate (very few match) cups, glasses, plastic beaker, huge pans (enough to boil 10kgs of spuds for potato salad at Xmas) and a hell of a lot more.

So when I was offered a couple of these Farrah Bake Tins to review, it didn't take much effort to accept - and I am so glad I did. Turning Farrah wraps into bowls is now a regular occurrence in our house now - with my wife taking extras to work to eat with her salad (much to some envious looks from her co-workers).

Preparing the Wrap bowls is simplicity itself - provided you follow the instructions instead of doing what I did and just rush straight in with inferior results.

Nuke the wrap for a few seconds, stab all over with a fork, push into one tin, using the other tin to push the wrap into place and just bake in a hot oven - remove from the oven without burning yourself and let it cool. Could it be much easier than that?

No - thought not.

Love them, I am a fan but I think I will need to get Polynesian packs of about 20 tins.

After reading the reviews on here, and having had them in Napier, I just had to go out and buy them.

They are fantastic and so simple to use. Just place a wrap on top of them, place in the oven and 10 minutes later you have a nice hard casing that you can fill with any fillings your heart desires. The best part is washing up is a breeze as you literally eat the bowl - its great.

It has been a huge hit with my two preschoolers they love eating the 'plate'. We have used them a couple of times already and only bought them a week ago. Decided to test run with just a Wrap. For the filling had Avocado, Chicken, Cheese, Carrot , Lettuce and a garlic sauce and was fantastic. The following night tried Nachoes and again a huge hit and then used the remaining ingredients and made another wrap.

I thought I would need to go out and buy another set but it cools down straight away and you can place another 2 in the oven practically one after the other - its nice and fast. Also feels so solid that you know it will still be around in ten years time unlike other cooking bakeware.

Definitely would recommend buying - huge hit especially with the children.

I have to say, I am very impressed with these bake tins! They are easy to use, they don't stick (as far as I know) and the result is a bowl that you can eat after you've finished your meal; it's just doing my head in. My Dad was the first to use these after we got them, but after making a couple of bowls for our nachos last night, I found out just how easy they are to use.

The process is simple, you just take a wrap, prick the surface of the wrap repeatedly with a sharp knife, maybe give it a quick buzz in the microwave for 10/20 seconds to soften it up, and then you just press the wrap into the tin, making sure it is centered, stick it in an oven pre-heated to 180 degrees for 10 minutes, let it cool in the tin, take it out and your ready to go! The resulting wraps were a bit flaky, but they were still rather sturdy and stood up to being eaten out of.

The big advantage to using these bake tins is that you can use a couple of tins, use them repeatedly to make a pile of bowls, and then you can use them to serve food at a party while minimizing the amount of dishes to clean. The bowls were rather strong, and even after being put under the heat and weight of the mince in them, they didn't spill, or leak, they were just like normal bowls, except that they weren't as strong and could be eaten afterwards.

The tin's design was quite clever, it allows a flat, circular wrap to be made into a bowl shape, then the tins can withstand the heat of the oven, and the wrap bowls just slide out. The effectiveness these tins deliver, as well as their ease of use, make these tins a very good item to have in your kitchen, it saves on dishes, gives you a bit of extra food, and you can eat almost anything out of them!

The price is reasonable, though I feel like it's maybe a bit too expensive. But, I now understand that $40.00 is about the same price as regular muffin or cake tins, so I now change my mind and say that this product has a good price. The tins are durable, they are quite sturdy and feel like they can withstand regular use, so overall, these tins are good to have in any kitchen, and are great in all aspects to me!

I have to start by saying these tins are an absolutely great idea for families with fussy eaters. I was very excited to see this arrive with the wraps to review.

My first thoughts after unboxing were that these felt and looked like very good quality bake ware, the non stick coating is a big advantage as not having to use any extra oils or sprays with the cooking is always good. I'm still not too sure about the cost however, $40 does seem a bit steep for only two tins comparing to what else is on the market, however NZ made is always a big advantage and as mentioned above the quality does look to be very high.

I was very excited to try them out and didn't waste too much time in doing so. My first use was actually making a Caesar salad to have with our fish, I decided to make these wrap 'bowls' to put the salad into to add some extra dimension to an otherwise standard salad. Using the wholegrain wraps this was a major hit and beats using croutons hands down.

The actual process of making these for a family of 3 with only two tins was a bit of an annoyance and in future I would make these ahead of time and store them in a container as is recommended on the box. The ease of shaping the wraps into these tins with using a second tin is great and although it can be a little hard to pull back off again (until you notice the little hole at the top which is perfect to aid getting these apart with a skewer), after following the instructions and pricking the wraps, into the oven they went. The first batch was a little over done around the edges so I turned the oven down for the third 'bowl' and it worked a lot better. A fan oven would most likely be best for these. The fact of how well the non stick surface works also makes these an absolute breeze to clean afterwards.

Turning a boring salad into one even master 7 couldn't wait to eat is the biggest plus that I found with these. The large range of meal options these can be used for does make them well worth a look, maybe at $30 these might be a bit better priced. However when you do take into account that these tins don't have to be solely used for the wraps and can be used as cake and pie tins the price does start to seem a bit more palatable.

I do highly recommend trying these to anyone who has young fussy eaters. Edible bowls is a big novelty that still hasn't worn off with my son and he is still asking when the next meal is we can put in the bowl.

These tins are amazing!! I was so excited to get a set of these to review & I wasn't at all disappointed - the results are fabulous!! These tins easily add that professional touch to your home made meals that make them look they are straight out of a restaurant.

The bake tins are the perfect size for Farrah wraps to be pushed into before cooking in the oven for a short time - an easy process made even easier by the non-stick coating meaning you don't have to add any oils or sprays etc. The result is a nicely hardened wrap in a really cool bowl shape which keeps it shape and doesn't go soggy no matter what you put into it!

My favourite was the bowl with mince nacho's and also the bowl with ice-cream - I am really impressed that with both options the bowl didn't go soggy at all. I also loved the fact I could make a savoury and sweet option all with the same quick and easy process.

With only my husband and I in the house most nights for meals the set of two bake tins are perfect for us. When I am going to use these in the future for dinner parties etc I plan to cook them ahead of time as stated in the instructions you can store the cooked bake tins in a bag or container so I'm definitely happy that they come in a set of two. I fully recommend these bake tins to others!

I hadn't seen these before so was pretty intrigued about using them for the Farrah's wraps. Having had it explained how to use them I used these with a couple of different variety's of wraps. Having only a set of two it was a bit time consuming to cook enough for the whole family and as mentioned in a previous review I am not sure I cooked these wraps properly in my rush. Everyone did however like the novelty of these and they make a great accompaniment/holder for stews, curry's, salads etc. I think for children they are a great novelty which can only be a good thing when you have fussy little ones. Hubby did like using them for stew and agreed that they were brilliant for holding a curry as well. so the whole family did like them.

Because the wraps can be baked and then stored to be eaten in the next few days these are good if you want to plan ahead for a dinner party and bake these ahead of time then produce them to impress guests. My mum certainly liked the idea of them.

The shape of these tins is pretty unique and I think that I will try using them for baking as I really like the shape. This shape is perfect for the skirt of a doll cake so will be trying that with fondant icing as well as a cake mixture. Because they are non stick they clean really easily and just needed a quick wipe and rinse. In all honesty I think I will probably play around with these more in my baking than with the wraps. I imagine that these are something that every now and then I will whip out and use just to jazz up a meal. As my little misses get more interested in cooking these are something that they could use to serve up their dinners in so they may get used more as my children get older.

I wouldn't pay $40 for the set of two tins as I don't think I would justify the cost by my use of them however the tins are good quality and I can see these tins lasting well through a variety of uses.

These tins caught my eye at The Food Show last year, and I have been dying to get a set ever since. So, when I was offered the chance to reviews some, I dived on the opportunity.

The shape is something quite clever, allowing a round wrap to form a solid and quite stable bowl shape that, when baked, turns crispy quite evenly. One little mistake I made in my first attempt was setting the oven to grill by mistake. This will cause the edges to get very brittle, while the base stays a little damp and soft. Your oven should be on bake, or fan-forced bake is even better. This ensures and even drying process, and sturdy but crisp bowls are formed.

Overall, I absolutely LOVE these bake tins! What they let you do to a wrap is nothing short of amazing, as the photo above shows, but they aren't 1-trick ponies by any means! Wanting to see how they would go as cake tins, I also made a tasty Orange, Lemon and Honey cake in them as well, as was astounded at how well they worked. The channels formed in the cake allow for a really nice "artsy" effect when you drizzle sauce or icing over the cake. You could also do a stylised volcano cake for kids using these tins. Wink Icon

I have not seen or heard of these miracle tins until I was sent a box to try out and all I can say is WOW!! These tins turn an ordinary meal into a meal that looks like it has come of a professional kitchen and they are super easy to use....when paired up with a Farrah Wrap the process is simple.

The bake tin is the perfect size for a wrap to be pushed into the tin and squashed down with the other tin with just a slight rim of the wrap poking out over the top...repeat the process with the second tin and into the oven they go to cook for 10 or so minutes. The bake tins are non-stick so the wrap easy comes away without problems. The bake tins cool down quickly once the edible bowls have been removed so they can be handled quickly to make more edible bowls.

When I first saw the bake tins I thought they looked too small and I wondered how the wraps would fit because I thought the wraps looked too big but my judgement was way off because the bake tin was the perfect size for the wrap and cooked the wraps to perfection. Even though I cooked the wraps in the tin for longer because I lost track of time the wraps didn't burn inside the bake tin, it hardened nicely and kept it's shape right throughout the meal no matter what food it held.

I used the edible bowl to hold mince nachos, a green salad with a runny vinaigrette salad dressing and the bowl stayed crispy, maccaroni cheese! and a beef casserole and the bowl kept its shape right throughout the whole meal and it was super fun breaking off bits from the top of the bowl and using the wrap to scoop up the contents of the bowl.

I would love to own more bake tins but written in the instruction sheet it told me that I could make several bowls and store then in an airtight container or zip-lock bag and can store the bowls for up to 1 week, so having 2 bake tins should be enough to use to feed a family or use at a dinner party because of the store factor. Brilliant!!

Since the bake tins slot inside each other they are easy to store in the cupboard, drawer or pantry...and being a whole piece they aren't fiddly to use, I don't need to attach anything to them, they are super easy to wash, or in my case just wipe out with a tea-towel because the wraps don't leave a messy residue so the bake tins and because of the non-stick I don't need to add anything to the tins before the cooking process.

I have told my friends about the bake tins but as of yet I haven't shown any of them yet but this will soon change when I invite them around for dinner to test them out...I know they will be just as amazed if not more amazed once they see what can be done and what the edible bowls can hold. I give these bake tins a 10/10 as I think they are great!! They would be great value for money if I was to buy more.

I was quite excited to be getting this to review as I was very curious about what I could do with them. You get two in the box and they are designed so that you don't need to coat with oil or butter etc. which is a great thing and makes clean up a lot easier.

The first thing that I made with these, naturally, was edible bowls using the Farrah wraps that I had gotten along with these to review. I gave a bowl each to my kids and they thought that it was brilliant. There was confusion at first but once the kids knew that they could eat the bowls as well as the contents they loved it and polished the bowl off. Since then they keep asking for more.

These are wonderfully easy to use. You put your wrap over top of one bowl and then use the other bowl to push the wrap down and into the bowl. Then you take off the top bowl, and repeat with the other bowl (leaving the wraps inside the bowls). You need to give the wraps a couple of pricks so that they don't rise up, then pop in the oven and cook for roughly 10 minutes (I left them in till they started to go brown at the top). Then all you need to do it take them out of the bowls and fill.

Even better is that the bowls cool down really really quickly, faster than I had expected, and so I didn't need to wait long before putting the bowls back into their box and nicely away in the cupboard.

I decided to try making a cookie bowl with these, but it didn't go as planned. Instead of staying its shape it all slid down into the middle of the bowl but the great thing was that due to the non-stick bowls it came out really easily and just needed a quick wash off and the bowls were clean again. Whist my original plan didn't work, they turned out looking a bit like suns and they would be great for decoration. The kids loved them and that's what counted.

I love these bowls and am so glad to have them in my kitchen. They're great fun and really really easy to use.

I was lucky enough to be selected to review the Farrah Wraps recently through KIWIreviews. One of the first thing that excited me about the whole pack was the Tortilla Wrap Bake tins. I have had a tortilla served to me in a restaurant like this and it was really neat. The idea that I could do this myself at home was awesome. So awesome was it, that I got all my wraps home and fired my oven up immediately.

In this set you get two bake tins. This is plenty, because once they are both on an oven tray there is not much room left on the tray. I could not wait to give these a go. These are non-stick and they are so slippery with the non-stick coating, you don't have to grease it up at all. I pressed a wrap into the tin and used the other one to push it down into place. I then did similar with the second wrap. I put them into the oven and watched them pretty closely. Once they were baked and golden, I took them out and left them for 5 minutes. I was surprised how quickly the tins cooled enough to touch. I then made another two baskets.

These were so easy to make. You do need to prick the wrap all over to make sure it cooks flat. I did one that wasn't properly pricked all over and it puffed up on one side like a balloon. I made enough for dinner that night and I also made an extra one so I could store it according to the instructions on the box. The one I stored, I used two days later in another dinner and it not only kept it shape but remained in a fresh condition too. You can make these plain, or coat them in butter or oil and then sprinkle with herbs, spices or sugar if you want a dessert bowl instead of dinner. The bowls are amazing, and my daughter was rapt to be able to eat her bowl as part of the meal.

These bowl moulds are awesome they have been a big hit in our house with the kids wanting an edible bowl with all their meals!! The first night I gave my son a bowl we were having spaghetti bolognese which you wouldn't traditionally associate with a tortilla bowl but I thought why not. We ate the contents and then I showed him he could eat the bowl by ripping a piece off and giving it to him to try. Once he tasted it he was ripping more and more bits of the bowl and eating them he thought it was great.

The second night I gave the kids nachos in an edible bowl which was my daughters idea. The tortillas work really well with mexican food so the bowl once empty had those great spicy flavours. My son this time tried eating the bowl before the meal inside was finished as he knew straight away it was the same edible bowl. Because he is still in a high chair it didn't matter though because the highchair tray is easy enough to clean. We also used the bowls for scrambled eggs and bacon with cheese for breakfast, this was something a bit different from the normal toast and was again a big hit with the kids.

The moulds are so easy to use the great thing is you don't need to oil them or line them or anything because they are completely non stick so the wraps just glide out once they are cooked and crisp. They are also so easy to clean just need to rinse them in warm soapy water as there is nothing to really scrub off. I did put a garlic butter spread on to some wraps and cook them as bowls when we had a curry and even using this the wraps didn't stick and were still really easy to clean. I love the fact that you can make the wrap bowls in advance and store them for when you need them as with only two moulds if you were needing to make a lot of bowls it could be a bit tricky.

I think we are going to have edible bowls for a long time in our house as the kids are crazzy about them so they make even a boring meal more exciting, so a definite hit in this house!! My daughter wants to try making chocolate bowls with the moulds so will have to figure out how to do that one but I think it is entirely possible!

I have often seen different brands of these advertised and thought they wouldn't work very well and would be a waste of money. When I was given the Farrah Wraps Bake Tins to review I changed my mind. As a family of four I thought it would be a pain just having 2 tins but I was wrong.

I have tried these tins with the snack wraps and the high fibre white wraps and both were a great success. The snack wraps were just slightly shorter than the bowl made with the larger size wrap. The thing that really surprised me was how easy it was to use the tins, I didn't grease the tins as instructed but just put the wraps in after pricking them. Once they had cooked for the required time I took them straight out (they didn't stick) and used the tins straight away to make more. In the time it took me to put last nights dishes away I had made six bowls.

I stored the bowls, which stack together beautifully, in a zip lock bag for the following night. This was a quick and easy meal of pasta and sauce. I sat the bowls on a dinner plate as I wasn't sure how they would go. Usually my 2 girls (4.5 and 3) manage to get pasta sauce everywhere. The bowls were a huge hit. The pasta went straight from the bowl to their mouths. There was hardly a splatter of pasta sauce on their plate. They also liked that they could rip bits off the bowl to eat too.

The bowls we hadn't used I used for my lunch the following day. I grated some cheese over them and popped each one in the microwave for a minute. The bowls flattened down significan'tly and were much softer but still delicious to eat. I wouldn't have put anything in them though.

I saw somewhere that you can line muffin tins with your favourite cookie dough to make a basket for fruit salad or ice cream. I would like to try this with the wraps tins. I love these tins and have already recommended them to friends
