I was so excited when I saw the lego firefighter rescue book up for review I have a 3 year old obsessed with fire engines so I thought this would be the perfect fit and my 6 year old loves lego so figured it would make a great bedtime story they could both enjoy. The layout of the book is fantastic I was able to read the book and my 6 year old managed a few of the speech bubbles. The pictures in the book are in true lego style and are very exciting to look at they also kept my 3 year old well entertained to listen to the story all the way through pointing out different things happening on each page.

I loved this book as apart from a great story with things they like which got them interested in the book it also contains good messages about working as a team and not rushing. They did not pick up on these messages straight away however after discussing the book we could go back and look for these messages. At $9 this book is great value for money for any lego fan, it has not left my 3 year old's bedside since we reviewed it so its safe to say they love it!

My eyes lit up when I saw Lego City had a new book called Firefighter Rescue available to review. I have a house full of Lego fans ranging in age from 4-7. One of them loves anything to do with firefighters so this was the perfect book for him. He enjoyed the book so much he has hidden it from the other children so he can read it secretly by himself. I had to track down another copy of the book in order to write this review.

Because of the age of my children I read the story to them. Miss 7 is a reluctant reader so I would read the bulk of the text and she would read the speech bubbles. She enjoyed doing this and it kept her engaged in the story. For the younger ones it was all about the pictures. They are all in the form of Lego. I can imagine they are photos of Lego although they aren't really. In true Lego style the Ricky the rookie firefighter races off to the fire engine wearing pyjama pants but holding his firefighter legs. We all thought this was funny.

There are also some important messages in this book about not rushing into things, working as a team, accident prevention and training for a job. Although the children didn't notice any of these I chose a different theme for us to discuss each time I read it. it is great to see a book that does more than just entertain. At only $9 this book is a great value and could be a stocking stuffer or addition to a Lego gift.
