Ever since I saw this books review from follow KIWIreviewers I just knew I had to buy for my daughter. It is everything I had hoped for and more. This book is stunning and every princess should own one. The pictures throughout the book are amazing and it makes you want to go out and buy Bunnies, Kittens, Ponies and Puppies. I found us all constantly saying 'ahhhhhhhhhhh how cute' or 'oh my gosh I want one' the pictures are just stunning.
The book is basically an index of the animals who belong to the various princesses, how they met and some special information pertaining to them. It is so imformative. As there are now many books available about most of the pets you can decide who you like the most and want to read more about. At the back of the book there is a personality test so you can be matched with the perfect animal for you and some craft activities. The best part is the masks have nothing on the next page so it does not matter if you cut them out.
Another thing which is fantastic about the book is it comes with your own animal, in our case Pumpkin and my daughter loves it. She has put on her special fairy board and has already determined who will look after Pumpkin if she gets scared of the dark.
This book is so special and definitely will be treasured for time to come. The price is fantastic considering everything you get for it. I just adore it. I definitely recommend to everyone out there - you will not be sorry. I am now the 'best mummy in the world' for getting it for her and I love how she has not put it down since receiving it. Just awesome!
Every now and again an item is put up available for review that you just HAVE to have, because you know youre child will love you forever. The Palace Pets handbook, is one such item, and the sheer excitement from my daughter when I gave it to her was a good sign I had made a good choice. She loves Palace Pets and already owns some toys and of course she adores reading, which makes this set a perfect choice for her.
Upon signing it to write up my review of this I was really surprised to see the rrp was only $16. I really expected a rrp of at least $25 - $30, especially being disney. The rrp is fantastic, in my opinion the set is worth more than $16 but I do like that it is a nice affordable price, because it would make a really lovely gift for any youbg disney palace pets fan!
My daughter loved the fact it came with little figure to play with and there is so much fantastic information. There is sections on each palace pet and their owners, along with how they came to be together and its not just limited to cats and dogs which is really great. My daughter likes that there is lots of different pets and she delighted it sitting and reading them too me. We did have to read it a couple times together because she kept skipping bits in her excitement lol
This book and figure set really is fantastic quality and worth every cent if you were to buy it. Often buying single little disney figures can range from $6 - $10 each so you are definitely getting a bargain and palace pet fans will be truly pleased with their purchase/gift :)
With Miss 5.5 that loves Disney Palace Pets I had to getThe Disney Palace Pets Royal Handbook when I saw it was available for review. Her eyes lit up when she saw it. She would have loved the book by itself but it became the best book ever since it had a Pumpkin figurine to play with. As a Mum I loved that the little case that Pumpkin came in was easy to open and close so that she it was time for Pumpkin to rest she could go back in the case and the set could stay together.
The book contained information about the Palace Pets which we had seen in a few other books so I was a bit disappointed in that. Fortunately it also contained more Palace Pets that I didn't know about, but Miss 5.5 did so she was excited about that. It was her chance to find out about them. The standardised format for these pages meant that she could read much of it without and help.
There were also lots of activities to do. We both appreciated that those that required cutting out had a blank page on the back so you weren't cutting things you wanted to keep. Some of the activities were perfect for my daughter but some required quite a bit of input from me both with reading the instructions and doing the task. If you have an older Palace Pets fan they would enjoy it too put a preschooler wouldn't get the most out of it.
This book would make a great gift and is surprisingly affordable. The only problem is my daughter now wants the other Palace Pets figurines and I will need to source them before her birthday in 6 weeks.
