Product reviews...
Reviewing this product with 3 girls was not a good idea and it went missing for a week. I have noticed that not using it has now caused my lips to crack and split. My oldest daughter and I talked about the smell, its not a bad smell but almost smells like cinnamon.
I don't like the size of the container and often found myself turning in on the side to use. I have a small fear of mistaking it for deodorant but look forward to trying others in this range. It however is an ideal shape to find in my handbag while waiting for people without having to give the lip balm hunt my full attention.
Hubby likes the fact it doesn't have that greasy, tacky, blur cheap taste and is really kissable. Often the hard thing about lip balm is using the whole product before losing it or finding it in the kids bags. I did notice that with all the hot weather and our travelling, that it hasn't melted and run like some products, which I love about it.
I like the simple packaging and the colours. I will definitely be suggesting it to all my female friends and mates with girls because lip balm is cool, but also trying it on the boys just because summer and hot weather can be nasty too them too. I believe I've even seen my hubby use it and I'm not supposed to know.
I was given some of this to try out today and it seemed perfect timing as we are coming into summer with my lips feeling dry already. As a bit of background, I tend to have lip balm on hand all the time, but to be honest I tend to forget to apply it unless my lips get overly dry. My current lip balm is in a pot, so when I do use it I end up having to wipe my fingers clean, so I was keen to try this one which came with an easy twist up mechanism.
I love the idea that this has no colour, smell or taste, catering to people out there with sensitivities. I know what this is like, as I am sensitive to many smells to the point where they make me feel quite ill. But I happily applied this knowing that I'd be quite safe - and I was. However my 6 year old tried it and happily put it on her lips only to afterwards sniff the container and declare how awful it was and that she'd never use it again! (So yes, there is a natural wax type smell to it, but I didn't think it was strong)
The balm gave a nice smooth waxy feel to my lips and they continued to feel waxy for over an hour (even after kissing, drinking, and eating). And then once the waxyness went away, my lips still definitely felt nice and soft.
I did think it was a strange shaped container as you kind of covered your whole lips without moving it around much, but I did like the convenience of it. I also noticed that I could keep the container in a hot car for a good couple of hours and the balm didn't melt or go out of shape - it just got slightly softer. Maybe this will be a great one to keep in the car permanently!
I do prefer a sunscreen in my lip balm, but this product definitely does what it intends to do. It isn't cheap, but I can tell it will last a long long time.
My daughter had been really sick with a chest infection and the flu and her lips were so dry that she woke up with black lips as they were bleeding. I quickly purchased some Lip Balm and although it worked she was having to reapply every hour or so cause would take the moisture away straight away. When we received this product her lips were still rather sore and ouchy.
The first thing I thought when looking at it looks more like a deodorant container as was bulkier then I thought it would be. It is not small and so she could not comfortably put into her pockets with ease. Also when take the tip off it is just one big tube so goes over the lips and beyond. It smells kind of like a candle but when applying it tastes minty. It goes on really soft and you can instantly feel the difference.
She applied the first day a handful of times and that night she was saying how much better her lips were feeling. The next day she dropped it down to applying it only three times and by the third day was down to two times. Now its every other day if that. I think this product has been fantastic for her. She feels so grown up having her own special lip balm and her lips are 'kissable' again. As she has not really used a lot this will probably last her to her teenage years. Her words are 'its minty and its yummy and I love it'.
