Shadow Fox Racer product reviews

This buggy is chunky through and through, be it the oversize pneumatic tyres for perfect grip or its appearance in general. This model also distinguishes itself by way of its dynamic looks and innovative technology. The Shadow Fox impressively demonstrates how a relatively small RC scale can put in such a big performance. A great combination of design and the very latest technological components!

Maximum gaming fun is included in the price with this model. Here are the most important technical details: Ergonomic control set with a joystick and 2-speed mode for adaptable indoor and outdoor driving. Then there's the differential gears and the High Speed Turbo Button, plus RC 3-frequency technology. This enables you to run up to three cars at the same time, without any interruptions. Extremely long driving periods are ensured by the high power Li-Ion batteries - and short recharging times are facilitated by the quick recharger.

Car length: 26cm

Features:
    •  Top Speed of 20 km/h
    •  2 speed modes
    •  Full function steering
    •  Quick recharging within 75 minutes
    •  Li-Ion high power battery 7.4V / 700 mAh
    •  Three 27MHz control frequencies to choose from

For more years than I care to name, I have loved remote control vehicles... of course back then radio control was just a dream unless you had multi-hundreds of dollars to spend, and even then the best you could hope for was backwards/forwards, and a turning circle so big you'd need the whole width of the road just to do a 3-point turn.

Now days, something like that just doesn't appear on shelves any more thankfully. Now you get some fun little buggies that ware well within your price bracket. Sure, they don't come with all the bells and whistles - those are still firmly the domain of the dedicated, more-dollars-than-sense devotees... but these are sure better than the cable-tethered little cars that moved barely faster than an ant could crawl after a night on the town.

As this little video shows, the Shadow Fox performs very well, and rather speedily, in it's "slow" speed setting. At the "fast" setting, this buggy is almost undriveable except in straight lines - so our recommendation is that you only use it in 'slow' mode in confined areas, and save 'fast' mode for larger areas, such as an empty car park or straight-run drag racing.

Overall, a neat toy for the young and old alike. My 2yr old had a blast driving it around a nearby carpark (We used that footage as the "Intro" in the video) and my 10yr old had a blast playing with it on the driveway out front of the office. It's a very affordable unit too - well within the bounds of it's peers, and I think it's amazing impact-endurance design puts it ahead of any similarly-priced model I have come across. For an afternoon of simple fun, you can't beat one of these. Thumbs Up
