I think the submarine looked like it could really go underwater and the aerial looked like a tracking device. I really liked the way the submarine could really shoot a lego torpedo. That was cool.
I liked the way the shark's jaws could move up and down and I think the fins looked quite cool. I followed the instructions but the tail didn't swing very far. After I changed it a little bit, the tail would swing a lot more and that was more real. It was cool how the bottom fin on the shark's tail could move down too. It was quite good how they made it so the shark's head could move side to side too.
After having played with the Barraki, this kit seemed a lot more sturdy, and was full of cool blocks that you dont see very often, which is always really lots of fun, especially when it came to the highlight, taking the models apart and building our own creations. I was inspired by a vehicle I saw designed in an episode of Seaquest DSV - a 1-man minisub with a drive system inspired by a dolphin's tail.
In this case, because of the way the shark's tail was designed to move side-to-side I had to change my concept a bit. It still looked really nifty though. The only real problem was that my son really wanted a lot of the parts I had used so that he could finish his new model. No worries, I had my fun, time to let him have his after all.
A really neat kit, very much worth looking at when you go thru your local Kmart store during sale time, when it is an even bigger bargain! It's not even the most expensive of the Aqua Raiders kits either!
