The puzzle on the back is real cool with the map of the world showing the rally, when it was and where it was. The puzzle was quite hard.
I enjoyed the pictures on the cards because I like to look at very expensive cards. I liked the Ferraris the best - I'd like to buy a Ferrari when I'm older. There are some very cool cars.
Boys would reaally enjoy playing this game because boys like cars more than girls. But I liked it anyway.
I can barely tell one end of a car from another. It took a mechanic to tell me where the engine was in my car, and another to tell me where to find the battery. I think it would be safe to say that cars and I have absolutely no common ground - that was until Top Trumps Supercars 2 came along.
Well,it never hurts a chap to dream about the things he can only dream about - fast cars and fast women. Ok, so the fast cars then. Or even having the money to even be able to consider such vehicles.
With gilt-edges cards, this pack just oozes the luxury that the cars contained therin just drip with. Each stunning card contains a mouth-watering photo of the car with an equally stunning array of stats with which each player can make their selections from. Even the comments on the bottom of the cards seem to echo what Jeremy Clarkson might have/would have said. For all I know, they could be Clarckson's comments.
I doubt very much that many girls would be interested in this deck. I think a number of boys will be interested. I can see this pack being bought in great numbers by the top bracket income people, instead of really shopping for a car. Why not get ideas about that one exclusive and the highly elusive vehicle that even the Jones' cannot compete with.
I think I have just sold myself on cars - even if I don't understand them. In short, a fun and collectable pack that would probably have greater appeal to adult males than their younger counterparts.
I thought this was a great deck. I am a bit of an armchair car nut and so it was really interesting to compare some of the stats. There were a lot of stats. Of course, as Jeremy Clarkson pointed out on an episode of [[-306^^Top Gear-">, some very highly-rated cars perform badly under pressure. But still, it's nice to THINK that a suped-up powercar is going to be better than a racecar any day, on the straight runs at least. Even though I had heard of the gumball rally, I admit to near-total ignorance of the details, except what I picked up from the movie back in the late 70's that probably sparked all this, and I bet the rules have changed a bit since then. Lots of fun, this deck was a lot of fun, but I just couldn't focus on the gameplay while I was drooling over the cars specs.
Not really a big fan of cars myself, so though the game is still up to the high fun standards, this isn't quite the right pack for me. For any car enthusiast, who dreams of big bore exhausts and twin turbo chargers, this is going to be a winner. Though I am a great fan of Top Gear, and have seen many of these cars in action, which I thought was great.
With a whopping *8* categories to choose from, this is also one of the most challenging decks. Some scores are highest-wins, but some are also lowest-wins, but to avoid confusion, they are clearly marked so on each card, so confusion is not an issue for even the youngest players. So saying, some youngun's might find it tough to grasp this concept in the early stages.
I was really taken with the megapuzzle on the backs of the cards, showing the route maps for all the Gumball Rally races between 1999 and 2005, so there's not only a puzzle, but some interesting trivia and geography to pick up too. Multiple layers of functionality certainly make for a good, broad-appeal product, so this is an obvious, winner.
Overall, even though not my favourite deck, it is certainly my Hit Pick from the currently-available range.
