WhatIF BamNut Noodles - Sweet Hot product reviews

Made with the regenerative crop Bambara groundnut, wholesome and full of goodness!

Instant noodles that are better for you and the planet? You better believe it. Made with BamNuts and our amazing air-frying technology, they taste deliciously deep-fried even though they're not. A little sweet, a little spice, they're full of nutrients and fibre but way lower in fat. Oh, and no palm oil. Welcome to indulgent, guilt-free, yum-filled, blow the chopsticks right out of your hand eating.

Add our Sweet Hot seasoning to the noodles for a delightfully spicy experience with a dash of caramel sweetness coming from traditional Kecap Manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce).

The WhatIF Bamnut noodles with sweet hot seasoning come in a cool-looking hexagonal-shaped box which I haven't seen other food brands use and it gives the impression that it's a board game or puzzle container. It contains five noodle bricks, sauce, oil, and seasoning packets. The noodles are made from the Bambara groundnut from regenerative crops which I had no idea what they were so I looked them up and they look like chickpeas but without the pointy little ends. These Noodles are a great source of protein at 17g per serving and are 60% lower in fat compared to leading instant noodles Plus they have three times the dietary fiber compared to leading instant noodles.

I removed the hexagonal-shaped top lid and removed one noodle brick, one sauce packet, one seasoning sachet, and one oil packet. I boiled a saucepan of water and added the noodle brick and cooked for roughly five minutes. I strained the water out and added the seasoning, sauce and oil packets, and mixed them together. I fried up two eggs and placed them on top of the noodles and then sprinkled fried shallot flakes over top. I ate the meal and was very satisfied with the taste and consistency of the noodles.
The texture was much like wholegrain noodles and was soft and slightly chewy and the flavor was very nice being sweet and slightly hot which you could see the little red chili specs mixed throughout that gave a little heat to it.

At $12.99 for this container consisting of five noodle servings, it is a little on the higher price scale compared to most other noodle brands but for what they are trying to achieve with having a sustainable food source with better health benefits it is worth it. I will be looking at purchasing some of the other ones as I would like to try the mushroom pepper one using charcoal noodles and the curry one using pumpkin noodles. I cooked up another noodle mix for my children to try and my youngest son wasn't a fan of the flavor but liked the noodles and my other son enjoyed both the noodles and flavor.
