We recently received this pack for review. My daughter loves watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on TV so it was easy to get her excited about the activity and colouring pack. The first thing we did with the pack, was go through the activities and have a go.

Her favourite activities to do in the book were the ones where you had to spot something. There was a great one where you spot the baddies in the scene, another where you spot the difference and the one she got excited about the most was trying to spot a matching pair in a group of 6 similar characters. This is educational too, because it helps with early maths skills, where there is patterning and finding activities.

Next, she and I opened the pen holder in the front cover of the book. This was really easy to open for me, as the pouch is perforated. Following the instructions, I managed to get it open easily and show my daughter how to slide the pens in and out. She had originally wanted to open it herself and I could see that she was just going to tear the whole thing off. So that is something to watch for.

She did some colouring on the first page. The selection of colours made it easy for her to colour the turtle as she wanted to. There is a brown and a green and all the right colours for the Turtle's accessories depending on who you are making them. She did comment after completing the page that the colour had bleed through the page onto the next one and she felt that it had ruined the new page.

This would be a good little school holiday pad for a TMNT fan, or a Christmas stocking stuffer. Aside from the issue with the paper bleed, we had some good fun with it. The pens are neat and a good size for school aged kids.
