A fresh and elegantly proportioned wine with concentrated flavours of gooseberry, citrus and passion fruit. The palate is dry to taste and medium-bodied, the acidity is perfect for balance and energy and carries the flavours to a soft, gentle, lingering finish.

I was very lucky to be handed a bottle of this wine recently to review. After my trial of the Pinot Gris from Four Hawk Day, I was definitely keen to try another of their range. The Sauvignon Blanc is a style of white wine that I do enjoy. I usually find them quite grassy in flavour, with that tartness about them. I was interested to see how this one fared.
Since my husband was out, I had a glass of this on my own. It was nicely chilled and the flavour was full but clean. This had a definite tart flavour to it, almost lemony. On my tongue I also got a peppery flavour. It was quite nice and warming, and I enjoyed the glass.
Later I shared a glass with my husband. He asked if one of the ingredients was chili. I don't believe so, but I think he was experiencing the same peppery sensation. I added a touch of this to dinner tonight. I made a chicken and wine pasta dish. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the wine flavour really added to the meal.
I also added some of this into a chocolate and fruit cake mix. I mashed two bananas, some boysenberry pulp and wine into a bowl. To this I added some oil, flour, sugar and cocoa. I mixed this up and then baked the cake batter in patty cups. These made a nice light muffin for the kids lunches over the weekend.

This juice is delectable and sumptuous for a fruit juice. Captivating the refreshing feijoa and soft apple, complementing one-another perfectly.
