Product reviews...
Luckily I was given the chance to review one of these sleeping bags for my son. I was given a size Large which says it is for 4-12 months but my son, who is a rather large 3.5 month old, fits the size large perfectly as I suspected he would.
I'd used a few different types of sleeping bags for my daughter when she was a baby but none of those come close to the ease and usefulness of the InVenta Sleep Bag.
I love how there are cooling strips to control the temperate for the child when sleeping. It is perfect for the current weather where it is hot during the day but gets a bit cooler at night. I put my son to bed with the front cooling strip open and when I go to bed a few hours later I can judge how warm it is and either close it or leave it open without the need to disturb him. This feature is priceless for a new parent trying to gauge what to dress their child in when putting them down for the night or trying to get them warmer in the night without waking them. As most new parents know, you should never wake a sleeping baby!
The designers of this sleeping bag have really thought about their users and have placed a cooling strip on the front and on the back to accommodate both tummy and back sleepers, absolute genius in my opinion. I'm a very big sleeping bag promoter and recommend all parents get and use them for their babies especially in winter as it stops them getting too cold by kicking all their blankets off but I also think they are good for summer as you can never predict how cold it will get at night and babies can't regulate their temperatures as well as we can.
All in all, I really liked the InVenta Sleep Bag and think it's a great improvement over all the other sleeping bags on the market. It really gives it a point of difference and that difference is incredibly useful.
Size: Large
After hearing such wonderful things in general about sleep bag systems, I jumped at the chance to review the Inventa Sleep Bag and was so thankful to be selected. 9months pregnant with our first baby I can't wait to try this out again with bub when she is old enough. In the meantime I had my nephew (5months) and niece (18months) to use this sleep bag with - both of who spend a lot of time at my house. I trialled this personally with the day time sleeps and I was also able to send the sleep bag home with them to try out night time sleeping.
Although I have always heard such good things about sleep bags I have never personally used one before until now - so this was definitely a good test to see if a first timer could figure out how sleep bag works so to speak! Straight away I looked at the design, colour and general look of the sleep bag - all of which I personally really liked and given the option would have chosen it off the shop shelf myself. Being grey and a light blue with an owl design and other little images it all works together really nicely and in my eyes would be deemed suitable for either boys or girls. When trailing this product for the first time I loved how easy it was to get both my nephew and niece in/out of this sleep bag and neither child minded it being put on either - simple yet very effective.
On the packet it says size large is to fit 4months to 12months and straight away I could see that this sleep bag would probably last a lot longer than that due to the length of it and it seemed roomy enough. When I tried this on my 18month old niece for the first time my thoughts were confirmed and this sleep bag still fitted her with ease (she isn't short for her age either). So definitely value for money straight away there with this product lasting for such a big age gap. This was something I hadn't thought of when I first looked at the price tag which originally I thought was pretty expensive. I now know that I'd be more than happy to pay that amount for a product that lasts that amount of time and the benefits this product brings - warmer children at night can mean healthier children too {less sickness}!
After fiddling round with all the zips and domes I was easily able to see how it all worked and loved that you can shorten the length by simply doing up the extra domes. When using this sleep bag my nephew had it domed up to the shorter length and my niece had it un-done. I also think the zipped air vents are a great idea - these would be perfect for not only summer but also when your child is battling illness/temperatures etc. I also like the fact that this is 1 tog rating so its middle of the range - it allows flexibility and you can still add (or take off in summer) any extra clothing underneath. All of the materials used to make this sleep bag seem to be really good quality - nice and soft - not scratchy and no loose cottons to catch on toes etc like you get with some garments. Already our sleep bag has had several washes and it looks like it did the day I took it out of the packet.
Overall, I have to say that I love the number one reason this sleep bag is just perfect - it means babies/toddlers are kept warmer as they can't kick off all of their "blankets" which ultimately has meant they sleep longer!!! Happier babies/toddlers equals happier parents and family for sure. Definitely a product I whole heartedly recommend to others with hesitation
Size: Extra Large
I was very excited to get the chance to review this sleeping bag for my daughter, whilst the age for this bag (she is in the large) says 12-36 months and my daughter is almost 36 months, she wears size 12months clothing, so I knew that this would swamp her and last her a good while.
In saying that my daughter is small for her age, I love the fact that this sleeping bag can be shortened, making it a little less swamping looking. This also has a cooling strip in it so that if you feel your child is getting too hot you can zip it open (nice and easy in the dark when you don't want to turn lights on in fear of waking your sleeping child) or zip it up if you want them a little warmer.
The travel slot it great, I did find the back one a little more awkward but it is still a great feature, no needing to bunch everything up to try and put them safely in the pram or car. Even better is that it is perfect for my daughter. She is tube fed and our routine is to give her a bath, put her in her pyjamas and then one last bottle, the travel slot was perfect for feeding the feeding tube through to connect it to her port without needing to half undress her etc.
This is a great bag that suits our daughter and her needs well, it is going to last a good length of time and it's made out of bamboo (much better for the environment).

I was incredibly lucky to be selected to review the inventa sleep bag system from Baby First recently. I love sleep bags in general because they are a great way to keep a blanket on a wriggly baby. In the past I have used many baby sleep bags, and swaddles so I know what I like and what I don't.
The first thing you notice with the Inventa is the cute motif. The colour is taupe which is a grey colour and then there are the egg shell blue clock and owl images as well. This colour and the theme are great for boys and girls alike. I could see this sleep bag as an investment in a family, no matter what genders you end up with.
We were given the extra large size as my youngest is 15 months old. The bag is vey long, but it has this neat thing where you can shorten it by applying some extra domes. I have had this shortened all week and it hasn't been a hassle for me or baby. Even shortened we can get her in and out of the bag.
The fastenings and zips have all been easy to understand and use. As my daughter has been recovering from a particularly nasty cold, we used the vents in the sleep bag a couple of times to help her cool down while still keeping her covered. These were easy enough to open and close in the dark. The netting did occasionally get snagged on the zip, but was easy enough to free as well. Overall, the materials used in this sleep bag are good quality. I love that they have used bamboo.
This is one tog-rating, which means it is like having one blanket on. Baby First does have other tog-ratings available, but a 1 is middle of the road. I like that it is sleeveless because it means I can put extra layers on her in winter or leave her naked except her nappy in summer when it gets too hot in our room. Its very versatile and is going to last us for years. My daughter has also grown to understand that when the bag comes out, it is bedtime. This does cause a few tears at the moment, but I think eventually it will be a calming thing, like her favourite blankie.
