Social media is a wonderful place to keep track of all the latest fads, trends and must haves or must not haves. Amber products is one of those poducts I was forever seeing being asked about. People were always wanting to know where to buy them, and what age they could use them on their baby, and were they really that great. The responding opinions were always positive.

Being old school myself though, all I could think was, oh my lord, what if it breaks in the car seat or bed or wherever, and baby chokes, or what if it gets caught, or pulls tight around babys neck etc. So many what ifs. Anyway when my granddaughter was born, one of the first things her mother bought for her was an amber teething necklace, and at 4 months old age it was put on her to help her get through the next few months of teething.

I admit I was not to enthusiastic about it. But I did love the look of it. They are a very cool looking necklace, or bracelet etc. I really like them in that aspect. Whether it was beneficial to my granddaughter during teething is hard to say. She is a little over 1 now, only has 3 teeth, and to be perfectly honest other than sleeping well during the process of those 3 teeth coming through, she was always grizzly and always broke out in rashes.

I would not necessarily say that the amber teething necklace helped my granddaughter with teething per se but it did seem to help with her sleeping. She no longer wears it anymore, and her sleep pattern is no longer as good as what it was when she did wear it. So, I feel a bit conflicted about them. I do love the look, the style, they're very cool and not badly priced. I'm unsure they do anything for teething, but looking for something to aid with sleeping, and these might just be the go Smile Icon

The Amber Teething Beads are one of those products that come out on the market that you have to wonder about, does it really work? Or is it a gimmick to ploy tired parents with young children who are teething into buying with the promise of teething being that much more bearable? Well I was very hesitant at first, but after a while I gave in and brought one in the hope it would aid my teething daughters grumpiness.

With so many different so called teething necklaces out there it was important for me to get the real thing, I wasn't sold on a $10 one off Trade Me, so instead paid the $35.00 for a Baa Baa beads one. The fact that each each of the beads are individually knotted on the necklace helped with ease of mind, the last thing I wanted was for the necklace to snap and my daughter to choke on all the beads. The string was very strong and the lock was a twist style one that didn't just pull apart so I was happy with my choice. There were a variety of choices in regards to colour so I went with a lighter honey colour.

Within a few days of my daughter wearing her necklace I really did notice the difference, she had gone from grizzly and miserable with red rosy cheeks to her happy self and you wouldn't have known she was teething. In fact after buying this necklace I never again had a grumpy child due to teething, the only way I knew she was teething was by looking in her mouth. Apparently amber has been used for years as a natural medication to help with teething, fevers, earaches and sore tummies, and I really do believe it works. Would definitely buy another for my next child.

I can not recommend these highly enough and really wish I had known about them with my two older children! I had never heard of these till my youngest was a new born then it was as if they had appeared from nowhere.

When it came teething time exhausting all other options I decided to follow the trend and give these a go and it is a decision I didn't regret! They worked almost instantly! They are awesome and I HIGHLY recommend them to other Mum's with teething bubs.

They look great too which is always a bonus! My hubby thought they were for girls but soon changed his mind after realising that they really do work and we were getting more sleep than previously!

I was quite concerned about him sleeping with the necklace on in case of anything terrible happening but all the places that I seeked advice from said it was perfectly ok for him to wear to sleep, still I was hesitant so instead I wrapped it loosely around his ankle beneath his pyjamas during nap and sleep times but I think it is more of a personal preference thing.

All in all a fantastic product and well worth the money!

I never used one of these amber teething necklaces as they just weren't widely used when my daughter was young. Now they are absolutely everywhere, whenever I go out I can usually spot a baby wearing one of these necklaces. I bought one for my son when he was about 4 months and beginning the teething experience.

I love it and think it really does help with teething. My son does still have discomfort when he is teething but he has less of the side effects like dribbling and red cheeks. I have noticed when he is not wearing it that he does have more of these symptoms so we just keep it on constantly now, even when he is in the bath or is sleeping.

These necklaces are really well made, each bead is strung on individually so if the baby were to break it only one bead would come off, and the beads are quite small so would be unlikely that they would become lodged in the babies throat. The little screw on clasp at the back allows you to do it up securely and it stays on, my son doesn't even notice he is wearing it now so it is not irritating on their necks.

If nothing else, although I do think they do work these look so funky on both boys and girls as a necklace. I think they are such cute little necklaces and think they look pretty styley!!
