Product reviews...
As a busy working mum making lunches can be quite a rush in the mornings. I know longer have time for home baking so unfortunately I have to now resort to more packaged food. The great thing about these rice wheels are that they are made my Healtheries a well known brand so I have confidence in the product and know that it's a lot better than some other packaged chips on the market having less fat and no artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.
My kids love these especially the burger and the sour cream and chives flavours. They come in a great sized pack and with having 2x kids being a multi pack of ten gets me through the week of school lunches. They are a wee bit more expensive than some other packaged snack food but they are very regularly on special at our supermarket and I know they will be eaten so I don't have as much food wastage.
I would definitely recommend these to other families who want to give them a try, they are a lot healthier being a rice based product rather than fried potato based ones. They come in a range of flavours so even the fussiest eater should find a flavour they like.
Recently I had the opportunity to buy these at the supermarket for a really good price as they were nearing their expiry date. What a great choice it was. These are packed full of flavour and the little bags were filled to the brim. These definitely felt like they were value for money even at full price. It was good that you get 10 bags per packet.
I have a fussy toddler who often won't try new things, but she thought it was really neat being able to have her own mini version of the ones I usually eat. They are just the right size to fit in a little persons mouth and they are very generous portion sizes. I often found that one little packet would last for 2 snacks
The packaging is very bright and appealing, they are easy to find on the shelves at the supermarket and a good alternative if you are looking for something a little healthier. they were easy to eat, not to hard and not to soft. As always the packaging is a little difficult for a toddler to open themselves but as they get older it would become easier.
I would definitely purchase this product again, our whole family enjoyed these, even our cat
Healtheries rice wheels are a yummy snack for any child (or adult)! A great value, appealing and tasty product with the benefits of being less fatty, as well as containing no artificial flavours and MSG. This product has been around for years now and is one that is loved by toddlers, young children and adults alike from my experience.
Made from puffed rice these are quite hard to describe as they are soft but crunchy at the same time. I totally love the cheese flavour, but I know others who love the burger and sour cream flavours. I find the flavouring to not be overpowering but strong enough that you can taste them and it keeps you wanting more. While I realise that this product is aimed at children I have often brought these as an option for myself, especially to chuck into my lunch box for work. There is something great about having pre-packed food stashed in the pantry for those "I'm running late quick I need something for lunch" moments!
The serving size of each packet is very generous - as an adult I find it a good snack size for myself. For the toddlers I work with, depending on the child this can be a good amount or it can be too big - but the rice wheels keep in their packet till later in the day with no worries at all. I also think the size of the actual rice wheel is perfect for little hands learning to hold food!
.
It would be great if these were cheaper - they are definitely more expensive than the multi-packs of chips etc but as per usual healthier food is always more expensive! Definitely a product I fully recommend to others
I love the whole range of Healtheries kid's snack packs. They are all great value, tasty and appealing to my kids. Plus I know they are going to be less fatty than other more pedestrian snacks on the market. The Kidscare Rice Wheels, are a huge hit with my daughters.
My eldest daughter has been eating these for years. What she loves about them is the soft crunchiness of the puffed rice. It's filling, but has the consistency of popcorn. There is plenty of flavour dust on the wheels but its not too overpowering especially for little taste buds. The wheels are a great size for little hands and are easy to eat. Even though they are a small pack, they last ages for toddlers. Still, they are a great size for school aged children as well.
As the pack has 10 in there, this pack will last you five days at daycare for two kids or two weeks if you have one child. There are a couple of different flavours in the range. Cheese is the one we have tried the most recently. But there is a chicken flavour and a burger flavour too. We will definitely be buying these again and again. They are great, my kids love them and they make snacks for swimming, picnics, trips to the zoo, etc so easy.
As we have been making such a big effort to provide healthy snacks for our 18 month old our 11 year old daughter has been wanting to have more healthy snacks too. She chose these at the supermarket this week in stead of chips which was a bit of a surprise because she is like the potato chip queen.
They were a lot more expensive than multipacks of chips are so I did do the whole you better eat them because they are a lot of money but she did!! She really liked them said they had a lot of flavour and they were actually quite filling. There is a lot of rice wheels in each pack so one packet is more than enough as a snack, in fact for our son he only really would have maybe quarter of the packet.
I like that they have no artificial flavours, as I find that important in food for my kids and I was really impressed that they don't contain any MSG as most potato type chips these days do. In fact these were pretty good all round with them not being too high in fats either so it is a good snack for the kids from time to time.
