It took us a while to use this as although Miss Six was keen so was Miss Two and I really didn't think I would cope with her necklace making! We eventually found some time with Miss Two otherwise engaged and set to work.

The kit itself includes a heap of dots, circles and rings all with different colourful patterns on them. There are also some very glossy metallic gold, silver and purple dots. Definitely enough to make quite a lot of necklaces and bracelets. There is also a great plastic thing with a sticky end which you use to pick up the pieces you are using and get in the right place without getting glue all over your fingers. Absolute genius!! I love this tool! The measuring length is in inches and centimetres so that became a great exercise in imperial versus metric measuring for Miss Six.

At the back of the instruction book are the templates to use so you can choose one of these or make your own. If you choose one of these you put it behind the square bit of plastic and then design your necklace on top of this. This keeps all the glue contained and then you can wipe off later. Once again absolutely brilliant. The designs are great and better than I could do myself. (I am not creative so like the really basic "here's how to do it"! I really liked the book and it gave us heaps of ideas. My favourite part was the toggle making. They are very cool and means that it is easy to make the toggle and loop for little fingers.

Miss Six and I both enjoyed this set and having reviewed many other Klutz products I have to say I think with this one Klutz have thought of everything. The kit contained everything we needed. The book is great and the little things like the sticky tool are pure genius. Although I am not sure how long the creations will last the making of them was fun and I look forward to making some more very soon.

I would recommend this Dot Jewelry set for about ages 7-8 years up and it would be a brilliant gift. Well done Klutz!

This is the coolest jewelry making kit we have ever owned and the easiest to use too. When my daughter opened it she figured out how to make the bracelets all on her own straight away without needing any help from me. Usually when it comes to creating the clasps to secure the bracelet with she will come to me to help with the tricky knots but the method that you used for all the creations in this book was so simple she got it straight away.

The kit has all bases covered to make it as easy as possible. The book comes with a sticky stick for picking up the bits of paper which is really great when you have sticky fingers from the glue. It also comes with a measuring board so you get the length of your necklaces right. The board has holders for you to put your string in so you can have it on the board to measure the spaces between your dot pendants too. The templates are great as they have the measurements all worked out for you and have the designs for you to follow.

There are no limits to your creations with this kit. It shows you some animals and flowers you can make and how to do them but you could create a lot more than what is in the book. My girl made owls, turtles, bees, flowers, fish, and frogs. She used some on necklaces and bracelets but she even made a birthday card for her cousin using some of her creations. It was hard to get her to go to bed as she just wanted to keep creating things!

Hopefully we can get packs of replacement dots from somewhere for the kit as it has been a huge hit with my girl and we will soon run out of dots the rate she is going, absolutely love Dot Jewelry.
