Product reviews...
I hadn't even heard of these chips until I read the below review a week or so ago. I quite like Big Uns, and especially the cheese flavoured ones. So I figured if I saw these I would get a pack to try. It took a while for me to find any. I tried my local supermarkets but no luck. In the end, it was this weekend when I was taking my girls on a road trip. I went to fuel up and there in the service station they were sitting. So I grabbed a smaller bag of them to share on the trip.
The bag is quite muted colours and they almost look like they are going for something a bit retro. I wasn't sure if I found the packaging appealing. They just seemed to be phoning it in, in terms of "popping out at you" on the shelf. The bag itself opened fairly easily and I was able to sneak a handful out before handing it to my eldest to be in charge of.
The taste was exactly as described. Its that familiar cheese Big Un flavour. With all its orange cheese powder glory. Delicious! I also liked the shapes, and thought the wagon wheel style was quite cute and easier to pick out of the pack. My daughters agreed. My eldest gave my youngest one at a time, and said that she was loving eating them. They were a good size and shape for little fingers, and made a great treat. I heard lots of giggles in the back of the chair and "oh no! Your face is all orange". Luckily I had a pack of wipes with me!
I seen these at the supermarket tonight and got excited about a new product. They reminded me of UFO's and I thought that they were going to be like that. On the packet they look like a thin corn snack so I was actually a little disappointed when I opened the packet and found out they weren't.
To me these are just big un's in a different shape same taste and same texture exactly so not what I would expect from a new product. Don't get me wrong I don't unlike Big Un's but because I was expecting something different the flavour didn't really do it for me. The cheese is the same as most cheese based snack foods like twisties and big un's so nothing fabulous but still enjoyable.
As they are a new product they are a great price at the moment to get people to start buying them and the packet size is reasonable at 120grams. I think they will be a hit for kids birthday parties and shared lunches as kids will love them but I probably won't be rushing out and buying them again. My daughter thought they were great she thought the shape was like a snowflake or a flower and she loves this type of snack food so they were a hit with her.
