Strike up the band with buildable blocks to create a real working piano for tots. Kids use chunky Mega Bloks pieces to put together a keyboard that features songs and lights. There are six song blocks, four beat blocks and four instrument blocks. Measures approximately 12".
Teach your child how to hit the right notes and start a musical party with the build-a-band piano. It is a unique buildable electronic piano that combines musical wonders with building fun. By joining smart builder's blocks with an attractive, kid-friendly keyboard, your child will be stimulated to learn creatively. Alone, the piano plays as a normal instrument, allowing your child to compose standard songs by pressing on the color-coded keys.
If you connect the xylophone or electric guitar block, the keyboard will generate those instrument sounds. Stack on a song block -- "Mary Had a Little Lamb," "Old McDonald," or "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" -- and the keyboard will play that song. Press the "play" button to hear the song in its entirety, or your child can play the song herself on the keyboard. The piano will play the song regardless of which keys are pressed, which makes it exciting and easy for your child to experiment with the song's rhythm and tempo. With the "beat" block, a fun percussion beat is added to the arrangement.
By layering or removing blocks, and pressing the keys at different speeds, aspiring young Beethoven's can experiment, adding beats and silly noises to build a full band sound and mix their own musical masterpieces.
It is ideal for children above 1 year, it contains nine pieces and requires 3 "AA" batteries, which are included. Research shows that kids benefit greatly from early exposure to music, and music education experts advocate incorporating music into children's lives as soon as possible. With the Mega Blocks Smart Builder Piano, your little one can get hands-on with music from a very early age. Children can play the keyboard and experiment with making their own sounds, or they can connect the music blocks to the keyboard to create different musical arrangements.
With its many creative functions, this toy provides many levels of fun that grow with children ages 1 through 4. Smart Builder Blocks Create Music Fun and Learning!

My kids got this for christmas in 2009 when my son was 1mth old and my daughter 17mths. They are now 3 and 4 and still play with it, its great for their mind and being a mega blok you can build up a stand with the blocks for the piano.
This piano comes with blocks that play sounds, songs, different instruments, its awesome. You put a block on and it will change the sound to what the block is, plays a song and you can do it over and over, only on the top middle gaps is where they connect for the sounds. Children still have a blast putting the blocks on and off, hitting the keys and enjoying their own music.
We have concerts with all the instruments we have and the piano is normally the one they fight over cause it does so much. I do love how mega bloks put out so much different things to clip onto their blocks. This has to be a fav in this house with my kids. The only thing that I didn't like is the cover to the batteries didn't like to unscrew to change the batteries but not a biggie in this house as I can stick it on and it stays unless they drop it or something and it falls off, just needs another bigger screw to stick it on again.
If you have mega bloks and want something else to go with it, get one of these, they are well worth the money.
