Product reviews...
I first discovered Command Picture Hanging Strips when I went into buy some of their picture hooks. I wanted to hang some small photo frames and didn't want to put any more holes in the wall. I bought the strips instead and I'm so pleased I did. They work so well and now I always have some in the house.
The strips are like adhesive velcro except there aren't two different types. One piece is stuck to the wall and the other to the picture frame. This has a huge advantage of keeping the picture straight. I have one photo that it above the sofa which energetic kids have knocked off several times. When the photo falls all I do is pick it up and put it back on the wall.
I have removed several strips from the wall, some that have been there for a couple of years and never had any damage to the paintwork. I had learnt from the Command hooks that it pays to be patient and pull it very slowly. These strips work just the same. I am certainly not as patient when it comes to installing the strips and seldom apply pressure for the suggested time. I have never, however, had one fall off the wall.
These are not cheap and need to be thrown away when you remove them from the wall so aren't ideal for people that rearrange their pictures frequently but for lazy people like me that leave their photos on the wall for years it is the best thing I have found for my walls.
Just when I thought Command Hooks by 3M couldn't get any better I discover these little beauties....Command Picture Hanging Strips...but not only can they be used too hang just photo frames no...I was looking for a something that would attach to material and then attach to a hard surface like a wall, and my first though was to go and check out the range of Command Hooks by 3M and I should not have been surprised but I truly was when I found these because they were perfect.
They firmly attached to the material and when I wanted to change the material activity/game for young children I just undid the velcro and put up another material activity/game...brilliant and I thought I was very clever. When I wish to take the Command Picture Hanging Strips off the walls I can be reassured that the wall will be left as perfect as the day the Command Picture Hanging Strips went on which is great because it is a wall at my work place and I would hate to be responsible for ruining a wall at my work.
I am always amazed at the many ranges of products/hooks that Command Hooks by 3M supply, and I am sure I am slightly obsessed as I use Command Hooks by 3M for everything and quite often my work mates laugh because I use them everywhere throughout my wall displays which is perfect because half the walls at my work place are concrete cinder bocks. Plus I think velcro is the best invention ever, so for velcro to be combined with a Command Hook by 3M is just good thinking on someone's part.
I've heard so much good about these strips but was a little worry having my frames hanging with just strips and no hooks. Well I got some brought for me and i had no choice but to use them. I started off hanging a few canvas's up that the kids did artwork on, that worked well, and was great.
Then I hang up a photo frame and did what the instructions said, push them together put it on the wall them pull frame off towards you using a up motion, well i couldnt get my fingers under but kept trying next minute i know its ripping the wall, i wasnt impressed at all. I pushed it back on and thought i will deal with that when i move house.
They hold strong and work well. Even though one has ripped my wall I would still recommend them and use them. They do save holes in the wall, I havent tried removing them yet though, will do that when i need to change picture or move house
These awesome picture hanging strips converted the way i hang all pictures in our home!! I discovered them about 5 years ago and have used nothing else since.
The only way i can think to describe them is like velcro ~ you stick them together, pressing to snap them into place and then peel off the paper to stick one side to whatever it is your hanging and the other to the wall.
I have hung photo frames, photo canvas's, wooden photo blocks and other decorative items (such as a mirrored map of NZ) without any damage to my things or the walls!
I have tried these out on four different wall surfaces in different houses including bare wooden walls (in a kitset house), wall paper covered then painted walls, new painted walls and tiles. All surfaces were not damaged when i removed the picture hanging strips and some were on the wall for as long as three years.
Definately recommend to others.
