Well, when i stumbled through the door of this establishment, i wasnt sure what to expect, But i was greeted by a smiling staff member who was more than happy to help me with my reservation.
Having Booked a Double Room in the Hostel part (Two Single Beds, With Dressers and own wash basin) for $49, i was skeptical at what i would find.
After going to the first floor in a dodgy elevator, i quickly found my room and was pleasantly suprised at what i found - Two neatly made beds, with towels folded at the end of the bed with those cute little soaps and shampoo sachets on top of them.
A Great Start!
I then put down my stuff, and went to explore. Down the corridor i found a neat and tidy kitchen, plenty of tables and chairs, 3 or 4 microwaves, plenty of benchspace for even 6 or 7 peolpe to use at the same time, and some kitchen appliances i didnt expect to find in such a cheap accommodation environment.
Then back downstairs to play pool with some fellow guests, and more exploring. I discovered the In-House bar, the guest common/tv room, and vending machines.
This Hotel/Hostel is maybe 20 minutes walk from britomart Transport Centre, $0.50 on the bus. and only 6 minutes walk from the nearest Starbucks for my first caffeine shot for the day.
This hotel/hostel is ideally placed for people who want to see auckland without having to travel in from the suburbs every day, with loads of convenient shops, in Auckland's CBD, and with a Bus Stop 10 metres down the road, Easy access to the city.
Overall a Great place to stay, very reasonable pricing, and staff who are always willing to help. I would definitely stay there again if i am to travel to auckland again.
