Despite the warning on the packet, my hunger won out and I microwaved it. Nuked pastry is not an entirely appetizing sight, so I would suggest that anyone who tries this pie takes the time to heat it in the oven.
That aside, the rest of the pie was great. The thick gravy held the meat well. Tender pieces of steak and kidney soon had my mouth watering. The portion size is about right for those who like a snack, but would suit those with a bigger appetite if incorporated into a meal.
I have had a number of Steak & Kidney pies in my time, some better than others. This is one I can add to the 'better' column on my list. I will be looking for this product again, as it has what I would consider quite a reasonable price tag compared to other brands.

A combination of unrefined extra virgin coconut oil and extra virgin avocado oil, Cocavo has less saturated fat than regular coconut oil. In addition to being high in lauric acid, Cocavo also offers the added health benefits of avocado oil which includes high levels of mono-unsaturated fat, vitamin E and plant sterols. Cocavo has a very high smoke point, which makes it ideal for cooking and enhancing flavors.
