Color Wonder - Markers product reviews

Explore the wonder of color using Crayola ® Color Wonder ™. Color Wonder is a unique ink, developed by Crayola scientists, that appears only on special paper.

The ink is clear on most surfaces, but each marker "magically" shows up a different color on Color Wonder paper. Color Wonder is great for craft projects, too.

Enjoy mess-free creativity!

Amongst my daughters Christmas gifts from Santa yesterday she received a Disney Princess Color Wonder set. I had seen these around in the shops before with the claim that they are mess free colouring though I was still a bit sceptical, I mean how can colouring possibly be mess free, as making a mess (especially for a 2 year old is half the fun). After reading the reviews of this product on KIWIreviews I realized that the claims were true so I was more than happy to include these in her Santa stocking.

We opened this up a couple of hours ago to try out, and I have to say I was most impressed, as was Daddy and Miss 2. Each of the pens has a lid and cap on the base which show the colours of each pen, though when you pull off the lid the tips are all white, Miss 2 looked at this and noticed that the tips weren't coloured like on other felt tips and claimed "there broken Mummy", so I showed her to use them on one of the pictures, her reaction "wowwwww it's like a magic". Drawing on the bench top and on another piece of paper was perfectly fine as no marks were left, colour was only seen on the special colouring book that was provided in the bag which the pens came with.

My daughter loves her magic markers and has spent most of her afternoon colouring and drawing with these. I have loved that I was able to go outside and hang out the washing and vacumn the floor with out having to supervise her fully with the fear of her drawing on the walls or herself if I took my eyes off her, due to these pens only being able to mark the paper they are meant for.

I would fully recommend buying one of these color wonder sets for mess free drawing, the colours we got are beautiful and just right for Disney Princesses, and the pictures to colour are creative and detailed, perfect for your very own little princess. A great gift idea for a child who's parents aren't the arty crafty type.

My daughter got a tinkerbell magic wonder for her birthday in July, cause we have been moving around I have kept it hidden until now as I never believed no mess.

After reading reviews on this product I decided to bite the bullet and pull her tinkerbell one out (she is 4) and the small numbers one I had in the cupboard for master 2.

Well it really is no mess, the felts have the colour lids and tops, but taking the lids off its white, this confused my kids. They started drawing and colour slowly showed up so they got into it. Doing what my kids do with normal felts is draw on their hands, I noticed they were doing this and nothing on their hands, no ink anywhere but the paper the pens came with.

I took a pen out of sight of the kids and thought I would do a bit of testing with the pens. So I drew on the walls, my clothes, my pans, kitchen bench and my couch, and NOTHING came up. There are no marks anywhere and this makes me pleased. Means I can actually leave the room and cook dinner while my kids have these pens and know they CANT destroy anything

As for the age, one they can start drawing/colouring I say go for it they cant harm anyone with it, still teaching them you cant draw on the floor, couch etc, but if they do cause they are learning your house is not going to look like the side walk.

Fully recommend and fully love love love this product, guess what other peoples kids are getting for presents LOL Icon

After spending some time playing with the fingerpaint version my son and I simply had to try these out as well. We decided to put the claim "Won't colour on skin, walls, carpet or clothing" to the test. Sure enough, no matter how much we scribbled on wallpaper and carpet samples from the craft box, each other's hands, or the old white t-shirt I dug out of the rag sack, there was no sign of the markers. However, on the old black t-shirt I dragged out, we could see a slight indication of where we had drawn, but that faded to 99.9999% invisible within seconds, so not really an issue... and it vanished when I put the shirt through the wash the next day.

Of all of the Color Wonder range, I personally liked these markers the best, however I did find that if you didn't seal the cap tightly and use the storage pouch (supplied in the pack, so relax, it's not and extra hidden cost or anything) the pens could dry out fairly quickly... so be sure to treat them well, seal the caps tightly, and store them in an appropriate manner for best lifespan.

I also really liked that in this pack the pad I got was unmarked, allowing my lad full creative freedom, and of course he combined the markers and fingerpaints on both pads, giving him a huge scope for creativity. It was fun for us to make 'fingerprint men'... get a good coating of the Color Wonder fingerpaints on your thumb, and press onto the pad. Once you have a good impression, grab a marker pen and draw in eyes, mouth, arms and legs... an old trick, but brough new life by this remarkable product.

Overall, a total hit for my son, a winner in my book, and sure to impress any parent with an artistically-inclined youngster. At less than $20 per pack, grabbing an assortment of products would be a wise investment, allowing your mini Picasso to open their creative minds to a whole new world of fun and magic colours.
