Whether you are looking for something to help you out on your homework assignment, or a budding anthropologist, or just have a curious streak and think people really are strange creatures... you should be reading this book.
It covers humanity from the smallest scale of our anatomy and physiology, right up to societal scales, introducing us to many peoples, cultures and ways of living. But that's not all by any means... with chapters like Origins, Body, Mind, Life Cycle, Society, Culture, Peoples and Future, there is every knowable aspect of humanity covered in amazing detail and volume.
There is no way to cram all of human knowledge into a single book, but if you could build a library that encompassed a decent smattering of the primary knowledgebase, this book would certinly rank amongst them. Add to all of that a 24-page index and glossary to help you locate what you are seeking.
Overall, well, it's hard to sum it up between 10-50 words... tjhe simple version is this: You should read this, no matter what. The long version... is just too long.

How can sheep help you sleep? They climb through the window and walk through the door. They sit on my bed and jump on the floor. They play hide and seek. They go down the hall. They shower and shave, and there's one on the loo! They have snacks in the kitchen. Oh, what will I do? Grandpa Jack says counting sheep helps him sleep. But a house full of sheep mean chaos, not calm.
