The invisible Thief showed up when my son had his mate over, when I opened the package and they seen the book they both were very excited. Straight away they went and sat down with the book. My sons friend who is a year older and a better reader than my son, read the book aloud to them both.
I sat and watched and observed as they looked through the book to start with pointing out cool stuff they liked and giggling away. Then when they started to get into it, they were giggling away and really enjoying the book. They loved how some words were different colours and sizes and highlighted the word stronger.
They were pointing to the the pictures and explaining them and saying look the colourful pages, this is a cool book ay. I was really enjoying watching them and seeing their eyes light up over the book. Considering they had been running wild up until the book showed up, was nice to see them so involed in one book for a long period of time.
Once they had itchy feet again and took of outside I sat down and had a look through the book myself and that night read some with my son, where we both really enjoyed it. I liked how the text and font and colour of words changes through out, it spices it up and doesnt make it boring at all.
My son was having a good laugh at the names and thought the superstilton was great. This is a book where I know my son will go back to read over again and again, and when we got to the end he asked about the other books in the back and said mum can we go to the town library and see if they have them, so hes keen to read more from the Heromice adventures books.
Geronimo Stilton books are our go to books now for Mr 5 and me. We have both developed a huge love for them. When Mr 5 saw The Invisible Thief, he got very excited. He was very keen to know how a thief could be invisible.
We managed to get through The Invisible Thief in just a few sittings and we each read a chapter at a time. We were enjoying sharing the book together so much and we didn't want to stop reading. This was particularly true as we moved into the middle part of the book! The book surprised us and progressed quite differently to how we thought it might. At the beginning of the book, we reacquainted ourselves with the characters in the book. We have met most of them before in other Heromice adventures. We always had a laugh the characters One, Two and Three as they are rather silly, brainless henchmice. Mr 5 and I quite like them though. When we were actually reading the book, we had forgotten about the villains - they suddenly appeared when we didn't expect them too. That is when the story gained momentum and excitement.
Whenever a part came up in the book about Lady Wonderwhiskers, I changed my voice into a dreamy, love sick way of speaking. Mr 5 thought it was very funny and he has now decided that she is Geronimo Superstilton's girlfriend. He really liked that idea!
As with all of the Geronimo Stilton books, there is a fabulous use of illustrations, colour and font variations. I love the way certain words are highlighted to maintain the interest of the reader. I used to find them particularly good when Mr 5 was younger and he would enjoy looking at the words as I read to him. He is now at the stage where he reads to me just as much as I read to him.
Yet another great Geronimo Stilton book. We have not been disappointed yet and we don't expect to. We can't wait for the next book to come out!
