Earthwise Baby Laundry Liquid has been used in our household since the birth of our daughter about a year ago. We have a front-loader washing machine, and both my hubby and I have very sensitive skin, so I am always very careful what we wash our clothes with. The birth of our daughter intensified this, and I found myself wanting to use a liquid which was tough on stains but still really gentle on skin.

I have tried a multitude of sensitive and baby laundry products, and there are a number of reasons why Earthwise's version stands out to me. The first is that despite being sensitive, it still has a subtle scent. This means that the washing comes out smelling lovely, even when it has gone in with a variety of coverings (as baby clothes tend to do..... ahem). The second is that it is really tough on stains. Between this liquid and the amazing power of the NZ sun, we have not had a single stain on our daughter's clothes, which I find pretty amazing. Third, the fact that it works in both front and top-loader machines means that I can take it to my parents and parent's in laws house (who have top-loader machines) and still use it there without fear of having to run the gauntlet of a different washing powder/ liquid. Fourth, the environmental credentials are fantastic. We use cloth nappies to be sensitive to the environment, but always worried about the extra phosphates, nitrates and other nasties that we would be pumping back into the waterways. Using this product, despite about 10 extra loads of laundry a week, we feel like we aren't having a huge negative effect on the environment which is exactly what we wanted. Finally, the price is really competitive compared to other laundry liquids.

Overall this product is a real all-rounder. Tough enough to use on our everyday washing, but sensitive enough for the youngest skin. An environmentally friendly formulation, top and front loader capability and a fantastic price-point to boot make this liquid a really great choice for washing for the whole family.

I have been using the Earthwise Laundry Liquid for some time now since I first started reviewing their products and I love it so I was pleased to be able to try out the new Baby Laundry Liquid.

I must confess firstly that I am not great at reading directions and just put a capful of this in the wash as I would with the Earthwise Laundry Liquid that I normally use. It wasn't until tonight when I put both bottles together to compare them that I actually read the directions on the back that state not to pour directly onto garments... oops. I have been doing this for years with no ill effects on my clothes but probably a precaution for a reason. I must say given I just throw the liquid in and start my wash I will probably continue doing my wash this way.

The Baby Laundry liquid is a larger bottle at 1 litre and suitable for front and top loaders. It does 33 washes though I am wondering if that is because you need to use more for a soiled wash than the normal liquid would require. Anyway I love that the bottle is larger as with children I seem to be constantly doing laundry in that never ending cycle that cycles quicker and quicker the more children you have. I really love the smell of this Baby Laundry Liquid also. It is slightly different to the fragrance free that I presently use and I really like it. I imagine the ingredient change is subtle but I almost prefer this Baby Laundry Liquid over the normal Earthwise Laundry Liquid that I use. Especially if I can get more washes out of a larger bottle.

With babies you really want to feel confident that you are using a product that won't cause their skin to react and Earthwise products give me that confidence. This is a lovely laundry liquid that works yet doesn't feel harsh on your clothes. I can definitely recommend this and would definitely recommend this for use on your baby clothes and other items i.e. sheets. Another fantastic dependable Earthwise product to add to their fantastic range.

I am always keen to try new laundry liquids that have less chemicals - friendlier on the environment and the body. I use a lot of Earthwise products in my house already so am always keen to be introduced to new products. Both my older son and myself have very sensitive skin so I am always looking for products that will be gentle on our skin. Earthwise is not a laundry liquid I would normally buy as once you have found a product that works for your family you very really try anything new. So thank you Earthwise for giving me this type of opportunity to try something new.

When opening the bottle I was shocked that this had a smell to it. Most products that claim to be gentle on the skin etc have no fragrance (this is what I am use to). In our house everybody's clothes go in the same wash so used this instead of my normal liquid. Although the cotton clothes did have a slight scent to them I felt other clothes with deeper smells were still there. I came to the conclusion that maybe this was too gentle a wash liquid for our whole families wash.

I decided I would however use this to wash more gentle things (eg wool blankets and other bedding). I was pleased at how this liquid worked on these products and the fresh smell left behind. Although this is not a product I would use for my normal wash - it is one I would use for more delicate washes and definitely looking forward to winter when it can be used on my merino clothing.

Earthwise you have blown me away once again! I got to review the laundry pods and was over the moon with the outcome from those. But after trialling this you have blown me right out of the water. I love love love that this product has no nasties hiding in it as it is nitrate free, phosphate free, chlorine free and ammonia free. Which got this mummy excited as my little lady had eczema along with myself so this is something that the whole family could use.

I love the fact that this style bottle has a smaller neck to it which means it is easy to grab a hold of especially if you are juggling washing or putting washing in the machine at the same time (yes us females love to muti task). The smell was nice, gentle fragrance but not too in your face. It almost reminded me a wee bit of baby powder which is much nicer than those in your face other brands.

I must admit I didn't read the back of the bottle to start with and just threw it in. Once I had poured in some liquid and put the lid on the washing machine down and flicked it on, it was then I decided to read the bottle where I found out that it shouldn't be directly poured onto garments. I got into a bit of a panic that it might bleach the clothes or mark them. Once the machine finished washing I raced downstairs to check and there was not a mark on anything (phew).

I was pleasantly surprised that my daughters bodysuits (that used to be white) actually came out a lot brighter and cleaner than when I have used other brands of washing liquid so that is a huge plus in my books. Once dried I put some of the clothes on my daughter which she wore the entire day and no itching! That is another amazing result as quite often I will try something new and it will flare up her eczema.

Well done Earthwise another fantastic product that will also be going on my shopping list!

Earthwise baby laundry liquid - ultra gentle is now my favourite laundry product of all time. My baby girl is quickly turning into a toddler at 15months old but due to her having eczema I have always still washed her clothes, bibs and bedding etc separately with a fragrance free powder. From now on I will be using this product instead, it really is that great!! Just over a week after first using this product and her skin is looking quite good with no reactions at all to the laundry liquid.

First impressions when I opened the bottle was the smell, it smells of babies - that nice baby powder scent that isn't to over powering but is still definitely there. The other laundry powder I've been using for my girl since birth doesn't smell of anything so I will admit the fact this liquid did have a scent made me a little nervous that her skin was going to react to it. The next thing I noticed and really liked was that the way the lid is designed - in the past I've used liquids that like this product you measure in the lid/cap - however this product is different because the lid/cap goes down into the bottle on replacement so you don't end up with liquid all oozing out the top where you've screwed it back on. This is a huge bonus to me as its been enough to put me off buying other brands of laundry liquid in the past!

As I was chucking all my daughters washing into the machine I noticed a singlet of her's with a small stain from the strawberries she had been eating... I was a bit gutted as no matter how hard I try she seems to get these stains every time she eats the fruit. More so is the fact that the previous washing powder I was using didn't get rid of these stains. As an after thought I pulled the item back out and snapped a photo just in case. I have to say the first thing I did when the washing cycle was complete was hunt around for the singlet to see the results!! I was so rapt that the Earthwise laundry liquid had taken the entire stain out! Not even a shadow of it being there. Now I'm not at all saying that this is a stain remover or to use this product hoping for that but hey if I'm going to use a product to wash my babies clothes in then it may as well be a product that gets rid of some every day stains in the process.

I also love the fact that this product is Phosphate, Nitrate, Chlorine and Ammonia free! Using natural products with my daughter has been a biggie so this is just one more thing I can now know that I am using the right product for. The bottle is recommended for 33 washes so that's a good amount and makes it worth paying the money for. Totally recommend this product to others out there - whether you are washing for a baby or not - this product is tops! Smile Icon

The smell of this takes me back to those newborn days! Blissful!! The scent had me sold before I had even used it!

My three year old suffers from eczema and asthma so the fact that this is supported by the National Asthma Foundation is a huge bonus! Because it will only be used for TeAriki, and lasts 33 washes it will last a decent amount of time.

The Earthwise Baby Laundry Liquid was gentle and washed out any dirt that was in my little mans clothing and bedding. The scent was fresh but subtle. TeAriki has not suffered from any itching or discomfort after wearing the clothes that were washed in the laundry liquid nor from the bedding. He also has not come out in any rash that he sometimes gets from some harsher washing detergents.

I love that you use the cap to measure out the liquid and that the label and instructions are clear and not at all confusing. It is also great that it can be used in both top & front loading machines, sometimes when we travel we take TeAriki his own washing powders but some can not be used in Front Loaders so that is another bonus for me! Smells great, washes well and gentle for little ones!!

I have always loved Earthwise products and was so excited when the baby and kids range of products came out as my son has such sensitive skin it is hard to find products that don't irritate his fragile skin. When I saw this new baby range of washing liquid become available I knew I had to try it. I have been using the Earthwise Fragrance Free laundry liquid as it is great for sensitive skin but I was excited as this had a fragrance so would leave the washing smelling great as well as being gentle.

The first thing I did when the bottle arrived was open it to have a smell. Yes I was in love it smells like babies which is great, that instant smell of baby powder hit me. My son is nearly 3 but I still love using baby products for him as they just smell so great. Being for babies it is a gentle fragrance but there is enough of it there to leave the washing with a lingering scent. I noticed when I got the washing in of the line it still smelt like baby powder.

I have been using this for a few days now and my son has worn the clothes after being washed with no ill effect to his skin which shows that it is gentle for him as a lot of products leave him with an itchy rash on his torso. This only has gentle ingredients and doesn't contain any of the nasties which are not only bad for skin but bad for the environment also so that is always a bonus. Another thing I like about Earthwise products is that they contain plant derived products so you know you are getting something more natural than the other products out there.

As well as smelling great, and being gentle for my son's skin this laundry liquid is still very effective. Having washed the Xmas day washing with chocolate stains, candy cane drool, and sunblock marks the laundry liquid removed all the marks without any need for pre soaking or stain treatment although I did have a spray bottle of earthwise stain remover handy just in case. It's good to have something you like that actually works so I give this a 10/10 for effectiveness I have no faults with the washing efficiency.
