I buy a lot of stuff online, probably way more than I should and I also sell a bit on trade me and various facebook buy and sell pages, so have had experience with a wide range of courier and post companies. Of all of them Courier Post is one of the ones I have had the best experience with.
If people want something couriered when I am selling I will use courier post as I have never had any issues with any of my parcels not showing up with them or taking too long. I did use pass the parcel for a while and got frustrated with having to wait for days and days for my parcels to even be picked up, so like that with courier post I can just drop it at my local post shop that way I know I will not be left waiting.
When I have had parcels delivered from courier post if I have had something posted overnight it has always come overnight so really happy with that. The other thing is that as I am now a rural address it has to go to my rural delivery driver and even then it still gets to me overnight. So the courier post driver doesn't come to my house but the mail man working on behalf of him will always come to my door and get a signature if it requires a signature.
CourierPost in my opinion are possibly one of the better courier delivery companys around at the moment. I have couriers delivering to my home almost on a daily bases, and more often than not it is CourierPost who do these deliveries.
The drivers are wonderful, so friendly and proud of the service they offer. They go out of their way to ensure a job well done. And they bang very loudly on the door too which I think is great. There is nothing worse than being home all day, and to pop out side to discover a 'card to call' card on your doorstep. The only time CourierPost leave these cards is when we are really not home! Or its really early in the morning and we do not get up to the door lol
They also deliver in a timely fashion, if you want something delivered overnight, they actually deliver it overnight! 2-3 days really is 2-3 days, and they actually deliver to where they are supposed to deliver too. What more could you ask for in a courier company?
I buy lots of stuff (far too much) online through Facebook, TradeMe, and several other sites. As a result all the different couriers in our neighbourhood know me. They all seen to arrive between 6:30 and 7:30 when I am at home. I can't recall a time in the last year when CourierPost left one of their cards from me.
Our local couriers are a lovely couple who often work together parking their van on the side of the road and delivering to several houses in one stop. They always have a smile for me and the kids and don't make me feel embarrassed for being in my pyjamas. I have always thought that using a courier was the safest way to send something. Many businesses (large and small) only send their goods by courier for this reason and we pay extra for this.
I was very surprised this morning to see my lovely courier drop an authority to leave authorisation form in my letterbox. . I am not sure if this was the company's initiative or the driver's but either way I will not be filling out this form. They would then be able to drop parcels off in a safe place of my choosing without a signature That is inviting problems. Imagine a criminal seeing the courier van arrive at my place walk around the back of my house with a parcel. That parcel probably won't be there for long. I also don't have any come back if the parcel never arrives.
I mentioned this to a courier from another company who came this morning. He said there is no point for people like me who are always home and awake when they call but a couple of the businesses in our neighbourhood have done this form them as their staff don't arrive until later. It appears to me that this is more of a time and cost saving exercise for CourierPost as they won't have to redeliver things. Is the next step not even knocking to see if someone is home?
I was sent a parcel last Wednesday and was delighted when it arrived today (Wednesday one week later), even with 4 non work days in the middle of it all.
The delivery lady that brought the parcel was polite, happy and wanted to check that the parcel was actually mine before handing it over, which I was more than happy to do. I have never had any problems with them and most of my parcels come with them. They also have a track'n'trace system online where, if you have the ticket number, you can find out where your parcel is. I have used this many times and find it easy to use.
I can only comment on the Kerikeri drivers but think they are pretty great. Even though they don't use the red and yellow van when they come to my house, you can always tell who it is as they wear the correct uniform and have a sign in the vehicle window.
I am a big user of Trade Me so get and send a lot of packages.
Courier post would have to be the fastest by far!! the only gripe i have with Courier Post is, some of the drivers around here to not adhear to the Signature Required Packages. I have recieved a number of packages left in my letter box OR on the ground that i know should have been signed for.
The only reason it bugs me is, i have a dog who loves to eat packages left on the ground. I would rather have to go to the post Office and pick up a package than have to replace a chewed package.
Over the last 2 years, thanks to this site, I have had a lot of dealings with various courier firms... in fact I would say I have had encounters with representatives and delivery agents from almost every courier firm that operates in the lower North Island. This gives me a great range of attributes to compare, and CourierPost would have to be one of the highest in the overall charts.
With extremely rapid delivery times, a so-far-no-fail score for accuracy that NONE of the other courier firms can match, and the local fellow who does the pick-ups and drop-offs for us is such a character it is always a pleasure to see him heading for our door.
Having the NZ Post fleet as their backbone has obviously done them well, since their prices are quite competitive if you have a lot of parcels to move and set up an account, however their single-bag rates are a little painful to the pocket if you buy them through a PostShop outlet. So saying, they are one of the few courier companies who will actually bother with one-off parcel pickups anymore.
Overall, it is a pleasure to deal with CourierPost, at least for us, and I would have to class them as the leaders of the pack.
