A useful tool for the lan administrator and service technician. Although simple to setup, a good working knowledge of internet or LAN (Local-Area Network) security is needed.
Also a good understanding of static IP numbers helps. If using a firewall it pays to disable it during setup.
Make the connection work first, then use your firwall again. As mentioned, it is simple to configure on static IP's.
One-click-connect when intitialising connection makes it simple to select your target machine and password protection generated on remote system ensures safety.
Symantec have produced this product over many years and I have found it to be convienient for system administration purposes.
Over the WAN (Wide Area Network, eg. Internet) you should remember to make it as secure as possible to prevent unwanted connections. You can disbale the 'To start with Windows' feature.
If the remote pc has dual displays, you can view both desktops on the host.
As with other versions you have local and remote interaction with mouse and keyboard so two-way chat is a possibility.
