This piece of software has come along way since the bloated days of old. As it turns out Symantec did listen to the people when told that their computers when running the Norton software was too slow. Now you can install Norton in about 5 mins compared to the past versions about 15 to 30 mins.

After re-installing my computer due to starting my big IT Project this semester, the first thing i put on was Norton (To get the right foot first approach), Next I installed the rest of the software i needed to once the system was fully protected, including Chrome, Firefox and other browsers needed. After everything was up and running I saw a link on Facebook (yes I use it and a little too addicted to it I do admit), I clicked the link and away I was, taken to the site of destination. Lucky having installed my Norton, I was then given an error and saw my Norton pop up a message saying a false Facebook page, and once again my computer was safe for another page.

Running Windows 8 I get the ability to have an app for it as well (nice to have but not really used so far, some of the features in the app are quite useful, but to use them it's more actively monitoring them, this includes the managing devices, one disappointing thing is not being able to use the scroll wheel to even cycle left or/and right, as it's not using length scrolling. Other features in the app are Backup, Anti-Theft, Management , Identity Safe, Mobile, Update Center and Norton Family.

The Norton Family is a great little tool for any young kiddies that access the internet and even just the computer. Having a 12 year old son who loves using the computer all the time (which kids don't) I love the ability to lock down the times, and to get it down to 30 mins is much better than some of the other parental controls at 1 hour intervals, would still prefer an option though for 15 mins intervals. The ability to have them login to the computer and then ask for more time and typing the user email and password to extend the time is much better and also being able to access the family website (Norton's) and alter the information and be able to also accept or decline blocked websites is also much better. This feature is also very useful. During the idle time of the computer Norton takes advantage and will do idle scans and tuneups too without you having to perform these manually. The scans are very good too ranging from quick to full and even customised in categories of Computer Scan, Reputation Scan and even Scan Facebook Wall. The Facebook scan is the only scan that I've seen only on Norton, and will show you the links checked and mark them as Norton Secured, Safe, Caution, Warning and Untested. This can give you the idea as to how safe the links are on Facebook, while also protecting you from opening the links by "mistake" and getting stung with the virus that maybe attached to the link.

With the mobile security for Android I've had no problems with it so far, no warnings or blocking of my phone required. It has been running very smooth so far, the only thing I find annoying is I haven't found the area to do a manual scan of the phone, folders or even the memory card, however it will scan the apps on install and so far everything has been clean for me. Still a good program as it comes as part of the Multi-device suite. The remote locate I haven't had to use yet as I haven't lost my phone YET, I did however login to see what it was like on my PC and it picked my address very well. It showed me the map and everything. Will be trying it out when my wife comes back i'll try it on her phone as well as her new Android tablet too.

Overall this software has come along way and in the early stages of it being out I tried it about 2 years and then was too bloated for my liking so went to other full system protection options, Having tried Norton 360 Multi-device it has changed my thoughts of the whole Norton suite, has been changed and I will start to look at buying this as my main service, There are a few things I'm still working out like the firewall with my Xbox 360 when it comes to the media center, but overall a very good piece of software and well worth the buy when considering identity theft is starting to become a big thing now having experienced it on Facebook myself. Also with Internet Banking and having our while life there on both computer and now Mobile we should be asking ourselves what happens not if, but when we are attacked. This is going to be my number one software for protection on both mobile and pc now. Also I love how it isn't taking up too much processing power or resources on my computer as well.

I was thrilled to be selected to review the Norton 360 Multi-Device by Symantec, especially as the multi-device software stated it protects Windows and Mac PCs, as well as Android and Apple IOS tablets and phones. It promised to cover up to 5 devices for 1 year, and as I had recently purchased a new laptop and also had an ipad2 and a galaxy smartphone, aswell as the old desktop, I was really keen to see if it would live up to its promises.

Ok so for PC you get Norton 360 Premier, for Android, iphone and ipad you get Norton Mobile Security and for Mac you get Norton Internet Security for Mac. I do not have a Mac so can not comment on that.

For as long as I have had a computer I have always been told Norton is the best virus protector out there, so this was sure to be fast, strong in-depth protection, that is reliable and does what it says. It installed really fast without any drama or problems and without a reboot and it protects against both known and unknown viruses and threats.

Thanks to Norton working quietly in the background on my PC I felt happy knowing I was safe to email, surf, and be on facebook or my favorite websites without having to worry about cybercriminals ripping me off. I knew if needed there was an option to fix, update and renew my products, and I love the Parental control management, especially as I have a 6yo who often searches for Dora or my little pony cartoons on youtube and near teenage boys.

You also get solid tune-up (disk defrag, registry clean-up) and backup capabilities included, along with some free online (up to 25GB) backup storage. I haven't tried the backup capability.

On the iPhone or other Apple device, you can track, trace and remotely wipe your device, and back up contacts if your device is lost or stolen - how cool is that? I really like this idea, especially as both my phone and ipad have a lot of personal things on them. I did not try this option yet, as I did not want to wipe things unnecessarily at this point ;) However in terms of the iphone (which I do not have) These functions are built into the iPhone already via Apple iCloud, so there really isn't much added value there.

On Android, you get similar features to IOS: "find my phone", contact backup and remote wipe capability, which all sound awesome and helpful, but I personally find the decreased my battery life on my device quicker than usual with the extra apps running etc. The biggest issue with my galaxy is that it does take a bit of the RAM and there is a little bit of lag when opening new pages (I wonder if Norton is security checking the pages which is causing the lag).

Even though cellphones seem to be relatively safe in terms of internet security and online browsing on your phone doesn't seem to be targeted highly for viruses yet, it's only a matter of time. And most cell users don't have any protection, so if something happens to your phone, you might not be able to send or receive calls or text! ... Imagine that!! LOL Icon At least with Norton Mobile Security I have peace of mind already even if it is not needed yet...phew!

Im not at all techy, but found this product easy to use and install and am very pleased with it so far. Pricing is standard for Norton Software, but I always think it would be great to see it more affordable for students like myself. As is particular one covers up to five devices though, the price is very fair.
