Having an active 3 year old in the house who goes full-time to a country daycare she is always coming home covered in hard to remove stains such as mud and paint, and more often than not these seem to be on white clothing (no I still haven't learnt that I should be dressing her in dark colours lol). I have used many stain removers in my time and although these do a pretty good job they just never manage to get out those stubborn blue paint stains.
My daughter suffers from pretty chronic eczema which can go out of control from the most simple things you take from granted such as washing powders, and detergents, but after trying out the baby range of bath products I wish pretty sure that this Earthwise whitener would be safe to use on her skin as she had such amazing results from all of the other Earthwise products we have tried. Being made with natural products was also a real selling point to me as you never know what damage all the other chemical based detergents and powders are really doing to your body, but with Earthwise you can rest assured that it's safe to use.
Removing the easy to lift cap from the tub of whitener you are straight away hit with a strong smell of lavender and eucalyptus, there is certainly no need to second guess what the scent is here. I added a scoop of the powder to the laundry sink which I had half filled with warm water as the directions stated and mixed the water around with my hands until I was happy all of the powder was dissolved, I added Miss 3's grubby daycare clothes which were covered in fresh mud, marmite, dye and paint (as well as some blue paint which I had never been able to remove previously) and left them all to soak for a couple of hours. Just looking at the colour of the water you could see just how much stains had been removed just throughout the soaking period, it was pretty unbelievable.
I wrung the water out of the clothes and popped them into the washing machine as usual with some washing liquid and waited for the cycle to finish. I inspected each item as I hung them out to dry and I was most impressed with the results the stains were completely gone, even the stubborn blue paint! The clothes smelt so fresh and clean and had a strong scent of the eucalyptus and lavender to them even after the washing process which was really nice.
This is one product that is going to stay on my shopping list from now on, so easy to use and smells great and best of all it really does whiten whites.
I didn't use a laundry soaker before finding this amazing product from Earthwise and now I can not get enough of it. I bought napisan when my son was born for soaking his white bodysuits in but had to stop using it because it didn't agree with his skin or mine when I was putting my hands in the wash tub to give them a scrub. It was a shame because I love white items on little babies but found I started buying darker colours so they would stay looking good for longer. I so wish I had none about this little gem back then!
I opened the tub of this and it is that amazing Earthwise Lavender scent that I just adore and can't get enough so was really keen to get this into my washing. I followed the directions to fill a tub to soak some of my son's and mine white garments. I used my hands to swish the water about to make sure all the powder had dissolved and was pleased that it didn't make my eczema flare up like some products can. This is always a good sign for me as if it aggravates my skin it is going to be too harsh for my son's clothing as he has super sensitive skin.
I left the garments to soak and then washed as normal and loved how white it brought the items up. Some of my older tshirts had started getting that grey look over time and this brought them up looking white again. I realised you could use this directly in the machine too so find I can't help myself but to slip a scoop in when I am putting on a load of washing. It not only adds a great fragrance to the clothes but it definitely boosts the colours. The thing I have been most impressed with is with my white towels. I love a traditional white towel for the bathroom as they just seem so crisp and fresh, but with make up and my partners greasy hands from work they don't often stay white.
With this whitener I can spray marks with the Earthwise Stain Remover Spray and then add a scoop of this to my washing machine to bring the towels up looking good again. They make the perfect paring for a stress free laundry system and I have recommend both to many people. Especially recommend this product to my brother for his cricket whites which cause my mum a lot of stress having to clean!
