Silly Billyz Long Sleeve Bibs product reviews

Proud to promote NZ productsOur Long Sleeve Bib is terrific for self feeders! The water resistant nylon sleeves provide extra protection from food wobbling off a spoon or fork. The open back allows babies and k ids to stay cool and makes it easy to get on and off.

Made from Cuddly Fleece or Snuggly Towel. Both fabrics have a water-resistant nylon backing with the clever snuggle neck guard, which sits snug against your baby's neck to stop dribbles and spills.

When my first child was approaching the age of starting solid food we decided that baby lead weaning was the way we wanted to proceed. Night after night we would put the bib on our son and night after night clothing was covered in food. I started thinking that there must be something better around.

After a few trips out I discovered Silly Billyz long sleeved bibs. Oh was my world going to change. I purchased the smaller size and after a wash we were eager to try. I had high hopes and was not dissappointed. The bib was brillant. There were no food stains on the clothes.

We brought the fleece bib in a green/blue. It was easy to put on an active toddler buy putting their arms in the sleeves and a fastner behind the neck. The fastner was strong enough that my toddler couldn't pull it off like he did with velcro. The nylon sleeves stopped any sauces/liquid getting onto sleeves, the fleece was soft and with the backing was able to stop even the wettest of meals. To clean I just chucked it in the washing machine with my towels and it always washed up great.

I really loved that very little stained this bib. So when it was my second childs turn to start soilds it still looked respectable and still had all the great qualities.

As my children were smaller these bibs lasted a long time. In time as our child grew we got rid of the other bibs and used the Silly billyz bib for messy meals. Once they had outgrown the need for a bib the silly billyz bib made its way to the craft box where it was used for arts and crafts where it still worked brillantly.

I would recommend this bib to any parent of a messy eater as it was brillant for my children and saved money on stain removal and new clothes. I love these bibs.

I had one of "those kids". You know the ones who prefer to throw food, smoosh it together between their fingers and maybe on occasion get something new in their mouth before spitting it out, normally missing the traditional bib and finding any piece of exposed clothing or skin instead. Yep that was my son.

It was by chance that I stumbled across these long sleeve bibs during a google search, and they turned our sounds "food experiences and adventures" into at least an easy clean up for me at the end of it all; added bonus it saved us a lot on clothes too - as you know pumpkin and kumara stains are an absolute nightmare to get out of anything.

While the design is logical, it goes beyond this with good quality and easy clean materials and ensures there is little real effort or battle to get this on with easy slip on from the arms and clasp at the back of the neck. The same high quality can be found in this as all Silly Billyz bibs.

My only wee gripe would be that the lighter colours did tend to stain if left for more than a few minutes without immediate attention, which was on occasion impossible, we found the green to be the be the best at holding it's colour and hiding the stains. Highly recommended for the messy eater.

when my daughter was younger, I bought a couple of these long sleeve bibs to supplement my large supply of standard silly billyz bibs. Because I only had 2 of the long sleeve ones (and I don't do washing everyday!), I tended to save them for when I really needed her sleeves protected - tomato sauce dinners etc.

I'd use them for meals (and the occasional art activity) and they really are fantastic. Food (and paint) does not get through the waterproof sleeves or the polar fleece front, and they wash up super well - I just threw them straight in the washing machine.

They were definitely more use in winter when she was wearing long sleeved clothing - it's those elbows and wrists that seem to get covered in messy food! In summer the bibs just added unnecessary extra heat and weren't really needed as I could just wipe her bare arms down with a cloth. Therefore her basic non-sleeved bibs got more use, but I loved having a couple of these ones on hand for when needed.

I'd definitely recommend these to any new parents - it's just deciding whether you want to have just a couple on hand for when really necessary, or have a whole bundle to use daily.

Before I became a Mum I watched what other Mum's were using and browsed the baby section of every store. I bought several Silly Billyz long sleeve bibs. Once my daughters were on solids I used these more than any other bib. These really did save a lot of mess, washing and stress. My baby would put their sleeve in their bowl but their clothing remained clean.

I preferred the fleece ones as they dried much faster and didn't stain even when I found a dirty bib in the nappy bag a couple of days later. My bibs were used for both my girls and many still looked like new when I passed them on to my sister for her kids. The only problem I had, other than the staining of the toweling ones, was the elastic in the wrists tended to go after a while in a few of them.

These also come in a larger size which I am still using now that my girls are 5 and 3.5. These are for our pasta nights as every Mum knows how hard it is to get pasta sauce out of clothing. I also used this size when they were toddlers as it would cover the tray in the highchair or the straps on the stroller so there was less mess when out.

When my eldest daughter started solids, I invested in a number of these long sleeved bibs. I hadn't realised that they existed at all, but a friend introduced me to them. I bought a selection of Silly Billyz ones as well as another brand. The fasteners on these bibs were snap domes. The domes had an adjustable setting too.

What I liked about these bibs was that they had a good cuff on the sleeve. They definitely saved my daughter's tops from getting coated in her food and puddles of milk on her tray. We also used them for art projects. They were durable and they have lasted us more than one child, plenty of wash and wear left in them. Silly Billyz bibs come in a variety of colours. They are easy to fold up and slip into a nappy bag or handbag if you are slightly past the nappy bag age-group. I got myself about 4 of these.

The only thing I didn't really like about these bibs was the polar fleece top. I appreciated that it kept my daughter's top dry by wicking away the moisture. However, it largely dripped right off the bib and down into her lap. For this reason I often had to change her pants after her lunch or dinner. So while the Silly Billyz bibs are pretty good, I would have been more impressed if her lap remained free from puddles or food as well.

These bibs have been a life saver for saving our clothing. My son is a really messy eater but insists on feeding himself and besides feeding him with no clothes on with a normal bib there was no way we could avoid spills on the clothing and inevitably stains!! I found out about these bibs on recommendation from a friend and bought a few straight away.

I love them and would say when you get to the self feeding stage to definitely give these amazing bibs a try. The bibs are really easy to get on, by just sliding the arms into the sleeves and securing the bib around babies neck. It is super soft around the neck so doesn't irritate their neck and they are made to be quite a generous size so are also not tight on little wrists or under the armpits. They come in two sizes so you get the right fit for your babies age.

I find when my son wears these the clothes not only stay clean but they stay dry too from the waterproof backing preventing the food going through the bib. Which means we have stained bibs but not stained clothes and I am fine with that.
