We have two of these containers and have had them for some time now. When I first purchased them, they looked like such a great idea. Sammys in one side separated with a plastic lid that is connected and two compartments in the other that don't allow the food to have contact with each other.
My main issue is that if you make an 'adult' sandwich and have lots of salad fillings, then use the other side with the two sections for other items, one side needs to be tipped upside down to be closed. I find this so frustrating as the food usually ends up a little damaged and the sandwich doesn't keep its fillings.
My other gripe about this product is that is isn't leak-proof, and almost everyday I peel and cut up an orange for my lunch as I hate the skin and having to peel it and make a mess whilst on the go. I cannot keep my orange in this container as the rest of the lunch ends up becoming soggy from the liquid.
These have been really durable, they go through the dishwasher every time we use them and have not broken at all with the use that they get. I think that they are a clever idea, just depends on what you are taking for lunch and how fussy you are!
I have just started taking my son to playgroup twice a week so needed something to put snacks in for him to take in our bag. I chose this one as it had the separate compartments to keep food separate without having to use lunch wrap. This is good for us as my son doesn't know how to unwrap food yet and gets frustrated when he can't get into his food easily plus it saves on rubbish.
There is one big compartment on one side that is big enough to fit a whole sandwich in and then the other side has two half compartments. I am able put fresh fruit in one half compartment, cheese and crackers in another, and in the big compartment I can put some little sandwiches or savory scones so I can really fit a lot in there. To open it you open the main clip and then fold it open to open the other compartments.
My son is too young to open the clips yet but they are really easy to open so you don't have to struggle to undo it, but clip in firmly so it stays closed until you are ready to open it. The compartments aren't completely leak proof though I found that out when an open yogurt was left in one side and then all the other compartments ended up with yogurt in them but for a cheap lunchbox it is really good.
