Such a winner. Perhaps out of nostalgia my husband and I purchased these to take us back to childhood days of chicken nuggets with the hopes these would be a little more classy. Wow they are delicious and have become a Saturday night staple!
Having a 9 month old makes life so busy and the more easy, convenient and delicious meals we can find the better. The fact they only take 12 minutes in the oven and we don't need to use the whole packet makes them affordable and a fast dinner. We usually team it with a salad to make sure we're getting some greens in as well. I know that when my son gets older we can continue to have this as a family meal that he will love.
The flavour, well as others have said it has KFC written all over it. So scrumptious and so much cheaper than KFC. You could even make your own potato and gravy and coleslaw to go with it if you wanted the full experience. So next time your wandering down the frozen aisle or see this one in the catalogue on special give them a go and i'm sure you'll be hooked as well.
Wow these are awesome, what a cool we snack. I stumbled upon these at a first birthday party the other day and thought what a fantastic wee snack for kiddies. The size of the nibbles really are what they suggest "bite size", they are non greasy and taste delicious, even my 1 year old was right into them. They are not spicy but have a yum flavour that keeps you wanting to go back for more. Tastes just like KFC and their secret spices.
Great for little fingers through to adults as they are a taste that most would like. I think Tegal have done really well here to cater for all. They even taste nice when they are cold. Type of food that can be heated up for a snack or popped on the side of a plate for a casual dinner.
They are very pricey for a 400gm pack when you can buy a 1kg pack of standard chicken nuggets for the same price. My only other gripe would be the packaging, it would be good if you could reseal the box or bag up if you were only wanting to take out a handful at a time like when you have small people in the house to feed.
My family's absolute favourite! My family loves going to KFC for the yummy chicken coated in the 11 herbs and spices, however these days it is rather expensive to go so it is only very occasionally that we do. On those very few occasions Miss 2 always chooses the popcorn chicken which is the perfect sized tasty morsels for her little mouth.
I had seen tegel selling chicken bites in big bags before and we gave these a try but found them to be quite bland tating and weren't very impressed, so when we saw these boxes of chicken bites in the frozen section of the supermarket we decided to give Tegel another chance. We often love the flavour of southern style and have on many occasions purchased the southern style chicken nibbles from tegel, so thought these might be similar in taste.
We took them home cooked them up for dinner that night Miss 2 devoured them and was soon over at Mummy and Daddys plates searching for more, leaving her veges and chips untouched on hr plate (chips and veges arenusually the first to go with her). These were a bit with everyone in the house tender and juicy bite sized chicken pieces perfect on there own or with a dipping sauce, aioli, bbq and steak sauce being our picks.
Though these are fantastic on there own they also make great additions to any wrap or salad, weve even added these to muffin splits to make tasty breakfast muffins. The only down fall is the small size of the box, being so small in size you do need to cook quite a lot as part of a meal, and for the price it does work out quite expensive. We have seen these available and have tried them in BBQ and spicy flavours but southern style is definetely the favourite around here.
Not the most nutritional of foods but perfect for a quick meal or snack every so often, quick to cook both using the oven and the acti-fry.
I really like these little bite sized pieces of chicken. I love southern style chicken so this flavour range is great. Tegel do a great southern style chicken nibble and this coating on the bites is the same nice flavour. It has a little bit of a spice to it but its really pretty mild, although my duaghter says it is spicy.
My daughter loves popcorn chicken from KFC so these are right up her alley as they are her sort of thing. You can also buy tegel chicken bites which come in a bigger packet but these have a nicer flavour to them in my opinion. My daughter likes to have these with a side of fries so she can pretend she is having KFC, or she also likes them mixed in with plain white rice.
They are so easy to cook and as they are pre cooked you basically just need to warm them thoroughly and crisp to your liking. My daughter likes them to have a bit of crunch so we cook them for longer than the suggested time but it still takes less than 15 minutes to cook so they are a great quick dinner. They don't have a whole lot of nutrition but hey kids love chicken nuggets and it is good to give them a treat once in a while.
Tegal party bites remind me of Kentucky Fried Chickens popcorn chicken, granted they do not have the same 11 herbs and spices, lol, but they are so yummy. We have a boxing day party every year, and these are absolutely brilliant to have on hand early in the day for the children, and then again later in the evening for the drinking adults.
They are quick and easy to prepare which makes them perfect for parties, whether it is adults or a childs party. And because they are so quick and easy to prepare they are also fantastic as an afternoon snack for the kids or if you are running out of time come dinner time they are just as great for the evening meal with vegetables :)
They also come in a couple, three different flavours which is an added bonus and as they are supposedly 100% chicken breast then you feel okay about giving them to your children and guests. The price is reasonable as they are small bite sized pieces you do get quite a bit for the 400g but with the cost of living and the size of families these days it would be good if they were larger sized bags.
