Premium chicken breast coated in a golden crumb and fully cooked. Perfect for use in paninis, sandwiches, subs, salads and more
Product reviews...
I love Tegal take out products, they are perfect for busy hungry people who need something yummy and quick to make. Perfect for both flatties or (small) families. We are a family of 5, so these are great as a snack but not really ideal if wanting to make meals for dinner time. Even making burgers, the two teens and hubby eat two or more home made burgers at once, especially if the fillings are minimal (a patty, some lettuce, onions and cheese), and as the Tegal take outs only have 6 schnitzel per bag, if using for meals for large families you are better off slicing and adding into salads and stir fry and the like.
The easy open no fuss bag is a bonus. It is also easy to read, visually appealing, and when you open the pack you can smell the spices used on these golden crumbed chicken schnitzels. They are also a decent size too which is a relief. Instructions are on the back - it is pretty straight forward process to be fair. Really easy to cook and just as easy to consume, and the chicken, once cooked, is full of flavour and nice and tender. You can't really go wrong.
This is a really great fast food product that is ideal for in the freezer to have on hand for snacks. The price sadly leaves a bit to be desired. It would possibly be cheaper to buy your own schnitzels and crumb them yourself. If on a budget I would recommend making your own, but not on a budget and need something quick n easy, this is definitely for you! Also great as a treat if you have been living on mince and sausages for longer than you wanted too. All in all a great tasty product that I would buy more of if the price was a little lower
We often have a quick and easy frozen chicken product on hand in our freezer for when we don't have much time and need a quick and easy dinner to prepare. I have been a Tegel chicken lover for many years and was so happy when Tegel first released there Take Outs range of products and with so many different options available to try I couldn't wait to work my way through them and try each one. The first of these which I choose to buy was the Golden Crumb Chicken Schnitzel, as I always love chicken schnitzel and thought this was a very versatile product to use.
Upon opening the packet up with scissors I saw that the bag contained 6 tasty schnitzels all of a very decent size. They looked very yummy and had a lovely even golden crumb coating to them. I popped 3 of them into the oven for 20 minutes to cook. I was using these in burgers so while they cooked I prepared the rest of my burger fillings lettuce, pineapple, cheese, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise and bacon and placed them onto the burgers when the chicken was done this was added, burgers and chips ready in no time at all and without all the fuss of needing to coat, crumb and cook my own chicken schnitzel from scratch, this I liked! These smelt and tasted great, the chicken was moist and tender, and the crumb coating was golden and crisp.
With the remaining schnitzels I have made pizzas by slicing the chicken into strips and chicken cordon bleus by topping the schnitzels with a layer of ham and cheese before baking them in the oven, both meals have been super tasty and quick to prepare and most importantly have tasted great.
If you are after a quick dinner I recommend trying these, the price isn't to bad considering all you can do with these and the easy preparation is well worth it, available at most supermarkets in the frozen section, you can't miss them just look for the bright yellow packaging.
Anything chicken is always a favourite with me ... And the hubby loves burgers (especially in summer) so it was with this mixture that we originally stumbled across these Take Outs in the freezer section at our supermarket. The packaging of all the flavours is really bright so your certain not to miss it ~ I think probably a very clever marketing tact. These are a little on the expensive side but then I find most products like these to be on the expensive side lol so that could just be me ~ I wait till they go on sale and buy them then
These chicken schnitzel and in fact all of this brand of chicken patties are scrummy! They actually taste like chicken and although you know they are processed and so not good for you they feel a lot healthier than something from the takeaway shops!! In fact I think these were the turning point that my hubby is now actually happy to have chicken in meals rather than beef or lamb. We treat these as an occasional food or a quick meal option and so there is generally always some in the freezer. In summer for those last minute burgers for dinner with friends option and in winter for the I can't be bothered cooking lets just chuck something in the oven real quick option. I love that they only take 20mins in the oven to cook - so convenient.
Since first trying these mixed with salad on a burger bun with your usual mix of sauces I have also tried them out diced up with bacon etc as a topping on home made pizza's, sliced up on top of satay rice and vegetables, sliced up with salad (or vegetables for that matter) in wraps and as a snack (cut up with dipping sauces) for my nieces and nephews... All of which have been equally as yummy! Definitely a product I will be continuing to buy and would recommend to others
My husband likes chicken quite a bit and would have it for dinner every night of the week if he could. So when these Take Outs came out we bought just about every flavour and style they had. In the freezer section the bags just jump out at you, because of their bright colours and the striking black arrow. They just grab your attention and I love the serving suggestion photo as well.
At the time, we were going through a phase where we were having burgers at least once a week. They are a ridiculously easy meal to throw together. We were having quite a few beef burgers, but these allowed us to change things up. We had the chicken schnitzel pieces, which we baked in the oven, on a burger bun. We added some beetroot, lettuce, tomato and cheese and then we added sauces as per people's tastes. My husband likes to have American mustard, and I like to have a mayo on top where my salad is, and a BBQ sauce nearest the meat.
These made excellent burgers. But they were also just as good on a plate with chips and mixed vegetables when I was feeling even lazier. After all, then you just have to microwave some frozen vegetables and bung the schnitzel and chips in the oven for about 30 minutes. For our daughter I would just cut one piece up into fingers and then give her a little dipping sauce. Easy and tasty too.
