I bought this when my dyson died and although I have never used a upright before for the price thought it was worth a try. When I first tried it got a sore arm as was quite heavy to use since the motor is on the machine and your not dragging behind. But now that I'm used to it it's fine. I do however do not like the fact I can't get under tables with the machine as a whole as it's to bulky.
It is easy to swivel around furniture but you can't get up close as the head is bulky. Also when you are doing the edges you really do need to take it off the head and lift it around as the hose isn't long enough which is really annoying. It does however keep it's no loss of suction which is really good you aren't always emptying to regain suction . Does also have a big dust capacity which is good.
No good for cleaning the car tho as you have to sit the motor part in the car for the hose to reach and still that's a struggle. But for the price it's good value for money compared to some.

Our current vacuum cleaner broke so we needed a new one, we looked into the shark navigator lift away through the website and eventually rang them and they informed us we could have a trial, costing only $20 which we thought was good. It arrived in a good amount of time and got straight into testing it out. We have two sets of stairs in our house so wanted to use it not in the upright position. It was fairly easy to change this and the pipe is stretchy but not long enough so you have the main part you are pulling around right behind you, which I found extremely annoying.

To vacuum the stairs you then have to pull another part of it apart and then you have the different part downstairs. It sounds like a silly thing but you end up spending a lot of time going up and down the stairs to collect the different parts and changing it from one mode to another. This annoys me as it is not a job I enjoy doing so want it to be as easy and hassle free as possible.

We sent it back and chose another vacuum that it much easier to use.

I love my Shark Navigator but there are some things about it that have stopped it from scoring a full 10/10. The good points first: yes it has amazing suction, and I domean amazing. The amount of dust and dirt it picks up off my floor, even though it is used daily, astounds me everytime. Being a sealed system means it locks in all the dust, so unlike past machines I have had you do not see the dust flying around the room when in use. :) The fact it can be portable is great too but I personally find that annoying.

Which brings me to the bad points: the sticker states super quiet, for my machine thid is far from the truth. It has always been annoyingly loud and at times this grates on my nerves. My daughter leaves the room because it is so loud. I also find it to be really heavy, not what I expected at all. I love that it is an upright machine, especially as I suffer a bad back, so not having to bend over to vacuum is great, however because its suction is so great it can take some extra effort to push it along the carpet :(

Although it is portable I do not find monouverability the best and as the foot is so large and the dust/dirt catcher is at the front it is harder to get under things such as coffee tables or kitchen chairs and you can not vacuum right to the edges of things without removing the foot etc.

It can be quite time consuming to use but the end result is most definitely always worth it.
