It was my husband who wanted to try this, and the first time we got some it was on special so I was OK with that.
I'm not a fan of soups with chunks of meat in it, so after my first one I haven't had any since. My husband on the other hand really likes this and any time we see it on sale he wants to get a pack or two to store away for that quick go-to meal for at home.
What I like about it is that my children think it's rather yummy, so on the odd day that U simply don't feel up to cooking I can pop one of these in the microwave and serve it to my kids giving them something that at least has the basic food groups covered.
It's a decent serving size, but I would only buy it on special due to the serving size.
Winter is the perfect time for soup, all flavours and tastes. I know homemade is best but when you aren't sure how to then a hat and eat option is best. I have tried various brands in cans that you just put into the pot and heat slowly but don' t let it bubble... well I always forget to keep a close eye on it and it bubbles and ruins the flavour, the condensed soups but that usually makes too much if you just want one portion. This is the perfect solution, no need to add anything and you can microwave it a lot faster than using the stove. Taking the soup out the microwave, I was expecting to burn my fingers or at least feel the heat but it was cool to touch and easy to carry to the table. The other thing I liked about this soup is that there are some chunky bits which are a lot more filling than water so no need to find something to snack on later.
Highly recommended to anyone who wants a decent meal and not have to prepare it for hours before hand.
A good product to have on back up for a quick and easy lunch...and with the extra bonus of being able to heat the contents right in the bowl means no washing up afterwards and the vented lid means there is no splatter in the microwave so double bonus again because still washing up from having to wipe out the microwave!
The soup itself is tasty depending on the flavour you get....my favourite flavour would have to be the beef and vegetable as I prefer a soup in a broth with chunks of vegetables and in this case the odd piece of pasta as well to add that extra little bit of substance to keep you feeling fuller for longer. The broth is the perfect thing to dip bread into as well or a bread bun.
It is advertised with a 99% fat free which is great of course but with all things that usually means it is higher is something else and in this case it is higher in salt content but I like that because I prefer salty beef as this helps to bring out the flavour and since I am not eating one of these soups every day I reckon it is okay!
Another great thing is when the soup comes out of the microwave oven the bowl itself is not hot so I don't have to worry about finding something to hold the bowl while I transport it to the table. The soup doesn't take long to heat up in microwave either, well depending on how hot you want it really, with me I only have 30 minutes to eat my lunch so I don't want my soup too hot so I can actually enjoy eating it without it burning my mouth, so this allows the consumer to decide how they want their soup. You can't really go wrong.
The packaging is great as the soup on the front of the container looks so yummy and in reality the soup inside does look like the advertise product and there isn't a lot of packaging that can say that. I think the price is reasonable as well as the shelf life of this soup means it will last for months on the shelf until it is needed for that last minute lunch option.
