I really like this razor although I will admit I tend to buy one pack, and then not want to spend the ridiculous amount on the blade refill packs so will then just buy another whole razor when I decide the cheap bic razors aren't doing a good enough job. I like the mens razors better as I find they give a smoother shave than the women's versions.

I like this one with it's four blades and the lubricating strips as it gets in nice and close and with the lubricating strips it glides over my skin so that I don't get any nasty shaving cuts. Although no matter how hard I try with any razor I will always get a cut on at least one of my knees still haven't quite figured out how to do the knees without cutting myself.

My partner also likes this razor and I like it when he uses it as I like the clean shaven look and also like the feel of his face when he uses an actual razor to do his face. He normally uses a hair shaver thing to do his face so it leaves behind stubble which drives me crazy but he feels like razors irritate his sensitive skin. This one he can use though without ending up with a shaving irritation.

The Schick Quattro is my hubbys favorite razor. Such a shame that these razors cost so much, but if you want a perfect shave then you have to pay for decent products.

Hubby has quite thick facial hair also, so he needs a razor he knows is going to do the job quickly, and not need going over and over several times which will cause irratation and cuts. The ergonomic handle design allows for good handly of the razor, and means that hubby can control the movement easily with out having to worry about slipping.

The two conditioning strips leave his skin feeling soft, smooth and with a light fragrance that is not too over bearing. Its not all sticking and slimy either which is fantastic, and the anti-clog technology does as it claims making rinsing a breaze.

We all need to take good care of ourselves, and manufacturers know this, which is why they can charge what they like for their products, but if it is a product that works, like this razor then as a consumer, you do not mind paying for it Smile Icon

This is the only razor that my husband will use. He has very course facial hair and he finds that the Schick Quattro blades do a good job and they last. I wouldn't call it a perfect shave (I am yet to see a "perfect" shave on him so we have to accept a "good" shave!) but gives a much better result for him than a 3 blade razor and the blades last longer than any other razor. The lubricant strip lasts very well too. He can make a blade last a week.

Other razors will give him a rash, however this one gives him a comfortable shave (and after) for the life of the blade. The cost is quite high but we weigh up the fact that they blades last and the quality of shave he gets and just have to accept the cost. We will continue to buy these blades and would recommend them - particularly for someone with course hair.

This is a very expensive razor, but it does a great job!! I brought one for hubby, but i think i use it more than he does, lol.
BUT ..I'm not so sure the shave stays smoother any longer than an average shaver and the refills are very expensive

I'm so glad this was a free one, part of a promotion run by a local radio station.

I shave about 3-4 times a week, tidying up the edges of the beard and clearing off the neck-stubble. For this task I usually just buy a pack of disposables, 12 for about $6. Good value, as they only last about half a dozen shaves each. So $6 keeps me covered for a good 3 months or so.

But since I had a chance to trial a 'fancy' razor, with four blades and an estimated lifespan of about a month on it's own, I thought it worth a shot. Sheesh, shouldn't have bothered.

The extra 2 blades, with their dinky little anti-chafe wires, the 2 lubricating strips with fancy unguents to give the skin instant balm against abrasion-burns, the swivel head to cover all angles... not much noticable improvement in performance and result over my preferred cheapo-brand ones!

Hot water, a good shaving foam, and a steady hand seem to be far more vital elements to a good clean shave than the much-touted shaver itself.

Overall, not really impressed. Don't think I'd like to see the cost of the refill packs either. The more the hype about the shaver, the higher the costs usually. And that often means huge costs for the heads. I'll stick to my 50c shavers thanks. The slightly smoother shave doesn't justify the $13+ pricetag for the basic shaver pack alone.
