We got this for our son when he was a year old, he is now 3.5 years old and still loves it. Its a great toy to learn the letters of the alphabet and the sounds that go with that letter. When he first got it we put it on the floor for him to just hit the yellow button once it was turned on to play the abc song he loved pushing the button and would sit there and dance to the abc song. His sister who is 16 months older loved sitting with him singing the song.
I love how it can attach to the fridge and kept the kids happy while I was cooking dinner, and teaching them letters and sounds at the same time, my oldest would put the sound letters into the hole and push the button it would then sing the song with the sound of the letter you just put in.
This has great colour attraction for children and great sound, I think its a fab toy and great for the learning, this has taught my kids so much and at 3.5 years and 5 years they still play with it singing the letter songs each time. I must admit when they just stand in the kitchen pushing the button over and over again and not actually listening to it, I get annoyed and want to just throw the toy away other than that its great. Great for young children thats for sure
My son received this as a gift he is a little young for it yet but he likes to listen to the alphabet song and listen to the letter sounds when you place one of the letter tiles in the centre.
As he hasn't quite developed the fine motor skills to put the letters in the correct place he can't use it by himself yet as it is a little tricky to get the tile aligned with the hole that is there to put it in. I'm sure with practice he will get this right as sometimes he manages to get the odd one in now.
I have to say this is probably the most annoying toy he has and sometimes I am really glad when he stops playing with. It has a little song for each letter that goes A, A says A, and a says a, every letter makes a sound A says A and a, so after a few letters you really get sick of hearing it.
Has some great learning of the alphabet and the sounds the different letters make and it seems to really appeal to my son it is one of the toys he seems to play with the most and i'm sure will help him learn the alphabet in time.
