Hydro Silk product reviews

I received this razor as a free sample and decided to give it shot. The Schick Hydro Silk razor glides very smoothly over the skin because of the shaving gel built in the razor, which is convenient. The gel doesn't last too long though, but I found that I have to make sure to store this with the blade up and not down, otherwise the gel can get all messy and go all over the place. but it's great on the first day. If you have sensitive skin, this may be the razor for you because it doesn't "scratch" over the skin, it feels "very" lubricated. It gives a very close shave, which lasts for two days or more, depending on the rate at which your hair grows. My legs stay super smooth. I love the moisturising strips on it just wished it lasted longer, it runs out and the razor is still not blunt.

I have never nicked or cut myself while using the hydro silk razor, not even once. A little on the pricey side but definitely worth it. I try to buy it when its on special, because it really is the best. Have repurchased and will continue to do so.

After finding out my razor that I use doesn't have blades to buy anymore kinda annoyed me, meant I had to go searching for another one, I didn't have a lot of time as I really really needed one. I had a look onto KIWIreviews site to see what razors were reviewed and what people thought of them first because its a big amount of money for me to buy for something that I can't stand or like.

I came across the Hydro Silk as a good review and thought I would give this a go since I started shaving I have almost always used Schick brand. I brought the pack while it was on special which was a great price for a handle, 2 blades and a razor holder. I read on the packet "moisturizes for up to 2 hours after shaving" which took my eye as well since I hate using creams and stuff to moisturizer after shaving this was going to save me time and cut out the grossness.

Once opening it all up, I noticed there was instructions on the inside, thinking this was silly as I know how to use a razor I was going to just throw it away until I had a closer look and decided to read you know just in case I do something wrong. Best results is in a shower, check as I only shave in the shower. To activate the moisturizing serum put it under running water, WOW really? no shaving cream or soap? and then once finished hang on the shower hanger EASY? lets give that a try.

Get into the shower and place the razor under the running water and start shaving what do you know, no shaving cream or soap needed, it was so smooth and so easy to use. It didn't stop and get caught and made my legs actually feel good. I didn't have to worry about the shower washing away the soap or shaving cream while I was trying to shave, everything worked great together. My legs felt good after the shower and there was no need to want to put cream on my legs to keep them smooth. After using it for 2 weeks I'm very pleased with the results it takes a couple of days for the hair to grow back as its not a stop it happening kinda thing and hair is going to come back whether we like it or not.

I would recommend this to my friends and family that are looking for a good razor, this will save me money in the long run as well with not having to use shaving cream or extra soap.

I really like the Hydro Silk Razor and although I've had mine for ages, I've just gone back to using it after quite a few months of using another brand - I'm now wondering why I ever stopped using it! I think the main thing that stands out the most to me is the fact that this razor gives such a closer shave than any other brands I've used. I have to say the fact that this is the feminine version of male one with 5 blades had my attention straight away when I first found it in the supermarket - I know my husbands is good so surely the feminine version has to be as well was my first thought.

The blades on this razor last a considerable amount of time which makes it good value for money, although I think all razors are ridiculously priced!! I do find after using it a few times the moisturising bar eventually runs out and this happens long before the blade is blunt. It almost goes through a set pattern of it working really well for a few shaves, then it becomes a slimy mess for a few shaves and then suddenly it is all gone. This doesn't bug me too much but it just means I need to remember to use body wash once the moisturising bar is finished. It definitely shaves a lot smoother and has better results at the start of using a cartridge.

The Hydro silk has a great handle which fits my hand comfortably and means for easier shaving. I also like the way the head moves slightly - "curve sensing" - meaning awkward spots are made easier and no cutting yourself! In fact I don't think I have ever managed to cut myself with this razor which is quite a miracle - normally I am always cutting by my ankles or knees! On the whole, a great razor which suits me perfectly and I would recommend to others

I like my Hydro Silk Razor, but I always find myself looking at other razors as though there just might be something better out there. But to date I have not switched. I love how comfortable my hydro silk feels in my hand, it is shaped to fit the hand comfortable and the groves in the handle mean you have a non slip grip as well, making shaving a brease.

I have very sensitive skin, so it does not take very much for me to become irratated and to get rashes, however I have not yet had any irritation from my hydro silk razor. My skin always feels silky smooth, and I don't find that I cut or nick myself, I do find I have to go over my legs twice though to get that smooth hair free feel.

I do have a gripe though, I find the moisturising bar becomes very slimy and gross after shaving, and if not stored correctly can cause quite a mess. It is such a shame as they idea behind the moisturising bar is a fantastci one, but I feel it is more mess than it is worth. I like the razor but I do know eventually something better for womans shaving will come along, that is not a mans razor lol

Since I started shaving my legs as a young teenager I have been searching for a razor that does the job well. Finally after nearly thirty years of searching I have found one. Schick Hydro Silk is the feminine version of the Schick Hydro. It is not the cheapest razor available but it does a great job. I also find the blades last a lot longer than the cheapies so it makes it good value for money.

It has five blades that are "curve sensing" this means that it does a great job in the awkward spots like around the knees and the armpits. I also find that it shaves closer so where previously I was shaving every second day I now can get away with shaving every third day.

The big claim is the water-activated moisturising serum. I definitely notice the difference when I change cartridges. The razor just glides over my skin and my skin is much smoother. I find that this serum disolves within a week probably because I keep my razor just under the shower rose so it is constantly damp. I am too frugal to replace them every week so I find that I need to use a bit more shower gel to lubricate my shave than I would with a new cartridge.

One of my favourite things about this razor is the handle. It is shaped perfectly for my hand. There is even a spot to rest your pointer finger. The all helps to give a better result. I have dropped this razor several times and although the cartridge will fall off nothing is broken. With other razors the little bits that grip the cartridge break and I've had to replace the whole thing. Over a year after I bought it and the handle is still going strong.

I hope that Schick continue to make this razor because it real suits me.
