Eoin Colfer's The Supernaturalists product reviews

Unwanted by his parents, Cosmo Hill is put to work by the state, testing highly dangerous products. Cosmo realizes he must get away, and escapes with the help of the Supernaturalists, a group of kids who have the same special abilities as Cosmo - they can see supernatural Parasites, creatures that feed on the life force of humans.

The Supernaturalists patrol the city at night, hunting the Parasites in hopes of saving what is left of humanity in Satellite City. But soon they find themselves caught in a web far more complicated than they'd imagined, and they discover a horrifying secret that will force them to question everything they believe in.

With stunning art and nonstop thrills, The Supernaturalist: The Graphic Novel will delight fans already familiar with the story and dazzle readers discovering it for the first time.

Never read any of Colfers work in the past but i have always had a soft spot for comics and graphic novels so this was going to be an easy one to review i thought. Turned out to be tougher than I thought but still a very good read. If this is the same plot as in the novel I can see what the fuss was about.
There is a lot can be said about this story. It could be a fun read for the kids but I wouldnt want to give it to anyone younger than maybe 11 or 12. There are some freaky ideas and scary images in here. But it does have a really good plot that mature kids will enjoy for the suspense and thrills. There are also a number of really clever twists that keep the story interesting.
The illustrations are amazing, full of colour and detail, and all the characters have quirks that make them individual and easy to get to grips with. That makes it something kind of special for me because books that are all words dont really let me connect with each character in some really unique way.
I really liked the way the history and background of each character was revealed, giving you a chance to get to know them now before getting to know how they got to this point. Little Ditto was probably my favourite character because he was a bit like a rubic cube. Every time you think you have the full picture there is a twist and you find something new that has to be put into place.
If you like something that sits about half way between scifi and supernatural then you should like this. If you dont like graphic novels then the novel could be worth borrowing from your local library to try too.
