OK the super hero squad books have been read by and to all members of our family now. Ages 5y, 10y, 11y, 34y Smile Icon And enjoyed by all.

I was impressed not only by the artwork, but also by the easy to read story line, and the fact that the books weren't all serious and violent. They actually had an element of humor within the story lines. For example in Meet the villains of Villainville, you are introduced to each villain, including Magneto, the master of magnetism, who can move anything made of metal. But metal often sticks to him when he really does not want too. My kids found that little bit really funny, and the picture to go with it even made miss 5 laugh, and helped her to understand what was meant within the story.

My kids also liked the fact, that the first page of both the 'meet the characters' books had items (pictures) that you had to find within the book, and that it also asked you to guess which characters the items belonged too. So it made the books that little bit more interactive, which they all enjoyed.

I think these two books would suit many age group, starting from about 6 or 7 yrs of age.

It is obvious the next two books, Thor's Adventure and Hulk Saves the Day, are written by different authors to the Meet the Super Hero Squad and Meet the Villains books, as they seem to be aimed at a slightly older age group. I would think these two books would best suit 8 or 9yrs of age (younger if the child is a capable reader). There are some slightly bigger words than the other two books, and a longer story line too. But they both have good story lines, that of course kids love anyway...especially boys. And these have great art work in them as well.

As a parent i love that the majority of characters (pictures) are all kids, I think that is quite neat, and have noticed that more and more books are coming out with the art work aimed at the actual people reading the books.

The only flaw may be that at times the artwork crowds the pages, and reminded me of a comic book with lots of chaotic drawing everywhere. But the drawing is not chaotic, it is very good in fact.

All in all a good set of books, bright, colorful and easy to read.
