I was a bit dubious about this when I first saw it as it kind of reminded me of the old wodden brooms with the stiff bristles that kind of work, but not completely and are only ever good on one surface, so I wasn't really expecting much from this one either. However after the first try of this broom I was forced to eat my words.

First off this broom works wonders on almost any surface, carpet, tile, lino, concrete, everything. The added bonus of a squeegee on this makes it perfect for windows and windscreens, and the rubber bristles mean you can clean your car and windows without fear of damaging them, and because the bristles are rubber and have a greater space between them than regular soft bristled brooms, there is no easy way for gunge and grime to really build up.

I like this broom and it has now replaced all the other brooms in the household as this is a one-stop-shop when it comes to brooms.

This is one of those brooms you have to wonder why you didn't buy it first. Suitable for indoors or out, able to deal with the biggest and smallest of indoor-floor-trash as easily as it deals with gravel and dead leaves. And it even comes with a window squeegee on the back of the head... pretty functional for a broom.

Test #1 was indoors. With a barefoot toddler in the house, a floor free if small stones, dirt, bits of food, and loose cat bikkies is an essential... since the kitchen is the part of the house that gets the worst by far, and it has a lino floor, I was able to test both the 'broom' function and the 'squeegee' function in one session.

First, a good sweep around and sure enough, even though the floor *looked* clean, there was a half-handful of bits I would not be happy to see in a toddler's mouth. A splash of soapy water and a repeat 'sweep' gave the floor a good scrubbing, and a final pass with the squeegee brought all the (now filty) water to one corner where a sponge and towel could get it all up. This method ensured there wasn't very much water used at all, since the work was done by the broom, not by harsh chemicals needing dilution. This made cleaning up a breeze.

Next, and outdoor test... sweeping up loose gravel and dead leaves was a breeze, as was the stacks of freshly-unearthed weeds. Oh yes, and the piles of bark chips my darling toddler decided I needed so urgently. And repeatedly. LOL Icon

Having finished the driveway and back patio area, I then gave the outsides of the windows a quick splash from the garden hose and a run over with the squeegee... and to my delight they looked stunning! I didn't even need to use cleaning agents! Because of the telescoping handle, I could comfortably reach even the tops of the windows with ease.

Overall... a great broom indeed. For the price, by far more functional than any of it's peers. My only tiny complaint is that thw bristles, for lack of a more accurate description, tended to hold onto dead leaf bits all too well... it took me almost a third of my time to clean IT as it took to clean the house!

This was another product I was quite skeptical about. After having spent many years on the end of a yard broom (as a pig farmer, working in stables and even in a previous job as a cleaner) I feel somewhat of an expert and a broom snob (if there can ever be such a thing) so when I was presented with a rubber broom - well, how good can one of those be?

Well, the answer surprised me as much as anyone else. On a deeper pile rug, a quick sweep not only restored the nap, it appeared to do a better job than a vacuum cleaner. Removed plenty of dust I never knew was there (I know you women will just blame that on me being distinctly male) and removed the loose fibres and my daughter and wife's hair caught up in the pile of the carpet. I have so little hair, I cannot be accused of moulting copiously!

Next step - the wooden floor. Again, it performed admirably sweeping up dust better than I would have expected a rubber broom to have done. I even sloshed some water on the floor just to test out the squeegy.

The only only carpet it didn't really work on was the hall carpet where the pile and nap made the broom just bounce over the top and make no contact.

Outside, the broom performed better than I expected, clearing the drive of crush snails and detritus from the neighbours tree. Excellent. The squeegy side can be used on the windows too.

All in all, this was a surprise, and a pleasant one at that. This is a truly versatile broom capable of performing in many areas of the house and grounds. The fact you can put the broom head in the dishwasher and sterilise it is an added bonus.
