This appliance is ideal for those with disabled hands (including arthritis etc). You simply place the battery powered cordless can opener on top of the can and push the button. The device penetrates the side of the can below the lid and rotates around the can automatically. No more fumbling with heavy cans and can openers. The device stores easily in a kitchen drawer thus freeing up valuable counter space.

I've had mine for almost two years now but the one I have now is my second one as the first broke. Good thing it was still under warranty so it was replaced. It might just be the first one was from a bad batch because the second one was more durable.

I like how I can use it and leave it on the can and have my hands free to chop onions or something else. It is easy to use, easy to change the batteries. It works well with round cans but have a hard time with other shapes -- especially the square or rectangle cans. I had broken the "key opener" for a corned beef that's in rectangular can so had to use this can opener and it got stuck half way. This is where the reverse mode is handy -- to get it unstuck. You have to press it continuously though so that it turns the whole way and so that the "teeth" will get unstuck. Otherwise, you might risk breaking it.

All in all, great product and if my second one breaks, i'll probably get another one. So hoping the one I have lasts for a long long time.

Great idea for older people. Really easy to use. Easy to read directions. The thing I loved best about it was you could use it without hands which saves me time and effort in the kitchen. It has a great auto shut off when it's finished opening the can. It opened the can clean by slicing the top right off. Excellent kitchen gadget.

A can opener, one of the most commonly used household appliances, yet while simplistic in its design it is also in my opinion one of the most frustrating devices ever conceived. How often have you gone to open a can of something only to have it jam halfway around, or to have it only cut sections of the lid? Well be frustrated no more.

The One Touch Can Opener is the ideal replacement for every can opener in every household, firstly it's automatic, no manual labour (yeah!!!), secondly and most importantly, it's safe to be used by anyone. The blade is tucked away and neither the lid nor the can end up with any nasty sharp edges for you to slice your hand open on.

I love this unit and I wish I had brought one sooner.

All too often I have attempted to open a can with our regular opener, only to find that one of the gears has come loose and unscrews itself as I wind, or simply falls off as I try to lock it in place. So it was with great delight I utterly shredded the packaging and put this little unit into action.

First off, inserting the betteries is extremely simple and require no tools or brute force... just a carefully applied bit of leverage, and the batteries too of course. Slip them in, close it up, place it on a can and away you go. But first, a safety issue I was pleased to note: When the unit is opened, two microswitches are revealed... one is clicked home when the unit is placed onto a can... obviously to prevent the unit operating in an unsafe position (Don't want any little fingers getting chewed up in this, do we.) The other is clicked home when the unit is sealed... so a double-safe switch for when the unit is getting it's batteries replaced, etc. This switch is also deeply recessed, so you can't accidentally jam it in place and turn this into a means of self-injury. Most excellent!

Operation is a breeze, pop onto a can, press button, let go and watch it wiggle around the rim. Works on almost any sized can, and in fact from looking at the unit, it only becomes MORE effective, the larger the can... we weren't able to test this, since we didn't have any catering-sized cans available on short notice, but the theory looks promising.

My only concern is that this unit cuts through the body of the can, just UNDER the rolled seam. I was hoping this unit would be the sort that cuts INTO the seam, creating a re-usable lid and leavbing rolled metal on both the can and lid. Alas, not to be. Though the resulting can rim is smooth and dull, not something you'll cut yourself on easily, it isn't the greatest of methods. No danger as far as my tests showed, but still a *slight* let-down from optimum expectations.

Overall, an excellent tool for those with strength issues in the hands and/or wrists. Perfect for kids aged 7 and above, as by then they are willing to listen to some form of reason regarding self-preservation, because they have probably already caused themselves some damage and get the idea that blood leaving the body is a bad idea.

There is something so simple in the design and use of this product that anyone can use it. Really.
Standard can openers require a certain amount of strength and dexterity to use them that it cuts out the young (my daughter at 12 has trouble using one) and the arthritic and often the elderly have trouble operating a standard manual can opener.
Not any more they don't. This really is a one touch design. Put it on the can. Press the big green button and leave the gadget to do the job alone with no further interference. The cutter and the grips close on the can and start cutting moving around the can until the lid comes off. The edges of the can are smooth - anyone would be hard pressed to cut themselves with this. I would have no hesitation in allowing a younger member of the household use the One Touch Can Opener.

The overall design is stylish and fits into any kitchen easily. All of the other One Touch range look similar so you are able to have a co-ordinated kitchen. The price puts it in the range of most people too. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend this product to other people.

Product image for Food SealerThrow away less food with this vacuum sealing storage system.

Air can be the worst enemy of food... Just try to leave a slice of banana, avocado or potato on the kitchen worktop, in just 5 minutes it will become oxidised, leaving it black and very unappealing to eat!

The Food Sealer sucks the air out and seals the bag; ... more...
