Product reviews...
I am pie freak...I love my pies and the bigger the pie the better to satisfy my puku. I discovered the Steak & Cheese : Pie Time - Big Bite while on a road trip and man I fell in love....what a tasty pie and usually I don't go for a steak and cheese pie but this was a great pie and I would totally buy another one anytime.
The Steak & Cheese : Pie Time - Big Bite that I purchased was huge and I felt very full and satisfied after eating it. I am a huge fan out gooey pastry that isn't flakey and this pie was perfect, great for a no mess no fuss meal on the go, and totally perfect for eating in the car.
As with all pies the amount of cheese was disappointing though, and with the pie I chose the cheese all seemed to be in one end of the pie and it was the near finished eating the pie end, I had to double check the wrapper to make sure I had chosen the cheese option and not just the steak option.
Also for the size of the pie there wasn't much steak, more gravy then steak but what steak they was it was tasty and tender and no yucky bits thrown in to bulk it up. I will be buying more of these pies as I think they are great...if you love pies and want to be satisifed go out and and buy a Steak & Cheese : Pie Time - Big Bite.
Well, the meat might be 100% beef, but there was sod all, and it sure could not be classed as top-grade or export quality.
Though I enjoyed the pie, I must admit that compared to some of the pies I have had the pleasure of consuming, this pie was not at the top of the list in most respects.
The taste was lacking any texture. A flat, badly spiced gravy drowned out any remaining flavour left in the chewy, overcooked gristled remains of the beef. Wrapped in a passable pastry, this was not a pleasure to eat, it was a necessity only. The price one pays to enjoy the luxury of a long-haul drive.
However, this pie does have some saving graces. Weighing in at 210g, it is one of the larger pies available as stopovers, leaving me feeling well-filled and not at all hungry afterwards. The pastry had little flavour, but was not overly flakey, making for a reasonably tidy consumption zone... an important factor while parked at the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.
Overall, wouldn't make this my first choice, but nor would it rest at the bottom end of my scale. I have had few better, and many worse.

An addictive dressing for just about anything... a sweet, garlic vinaigrette which you must hide from the unconverted! Ideal on seafood.
