This is an experimental cheese, still under development.
A very tasty, creamy smooth blue cheese with a bit of a bite.
Great with brewed beverages, on unflavoured rice crackers, or use your creativity.
Product reviews...
First off, I DON'T LIKE BLUE CHEESE!
Secondly, I DON'T LIKE BLUE CHEESE!
So you can imagine how surprised I was when I was offered a taste of this cheese at a beer tasting night at a local gourmet food supplier's shop, and actually really liked it! It was served with a freshly cooked baguette, to accompany a delish beef stew and an unusual fermented beer called Chimay White.
The cheese was awesome... and I have a standing order whenever it becomes available. The pricetag IS a little hefty, but worth every penny IMHO.
The best way to descibe this cheese, is NOT to describe it really. You have to taste it! So come on, let Kapiti know there IS a market for this fine cheese... if you want to know how, send us an email here at KIWIreviews.
Point One, I LOVE BLUE CHEESE!
Point Two, I REALLY LOVE THIS BLUE CHEESE!!
Altho the price is a little prohibitive to my buying it often, I certainly made sure that I bought it at least once. The consistency can be a little crumbly when eating it with crackers, but I'm sure that it wouldn't be a problem when adding it to other things. As for taste, I would have to say that this cheese is definitely my pick of ALL the blue cheeses I've tried. And I've tried a LOT!! LOL.
