Product reviews...
Well, quite apart from the fact that it has not two, but 6 ink cartridges, this was a breeze from minute one. From pulling it out of the box, through to holding a fresh A4 photo, in under 5 minutes. Quite frankly, for a printer in this price bracket, I expected a lot less than actually presented itself... I love a machine that exceeds my expectations.
The driver CD installed itself, but still offered a wide range of customising options, since it comes bundled with an extensive toolbox of software, providing the user with a stunning array of creative and production scenarios. From printing the holiday snaps as a card, through to a professionally produced Photo CD compilation on custom-printed CD or DVD format disc.
I was impressed by the fact that the specially engineered CD printing tray came with an easy to use adaptor to hold the smaller 80mm discs and the awkward business card format discs. Maximum options in minimum space.
With the full 6 colours onboard, the colour-correction is flawless, providing the professional user the assurance of true-to-print proofs through to accurate art reproduction. The resolution
Speed was impressive in most modes, including disc printing, but highly graphic-intensive PDFs did slow it a little. Noticeable only in high-page-count job tests. At 20 pages of A4 600dpi, there was a definite lag of a few extra seconds a page.
Overall, this little unit has a surprisingly powerful outlook. Great for the home user's budget, and impressive value for money to any SOHO business. All the flaps and access points fold away into a nice smooth easy-to-store shape, adding to it's appeal in a pressure-productive environment.
