4gigs worth of photos on my camera...
4gigs worth of data on my pda...
4gigs of music in my MP3 player...
It really is quite an appealing thought... and a tough choice. So in the end I decided to try them all.

First off, the Loading Test... this is a timed save-to-card test. For this test I used 800megs of assorted data, with files ranging from 1.2meg to 598meg each. Images, Assorted data, and music files... all three tests were timed and averaged out... and I was shocked to see the average upload time was 5minutes and 3 seconds... that works out to an average write speed of 2.64mb/sec... far below expected. However, it's best single score was up around the 8.2mb/sec range... still well below 'ideal' but certainly fast enough for digital cameras.

Then it came time to test the read speeds... same files, this time being read off the card. Slightly better scores, with an average of 4.14mb/sec, nearly double the write speed, but again well below lab conditions ideal. Best speed was a tad under 12mb/sec... now the read speeds are by far the more important, because of course they are the ones we will notice the most.

Structurally, the card is much the same as any others on the market, so there's nothing much to make this card stand out from the rest, but the price is pretty shiny, and the 5 year warranty is a bonus, and the low power consuption means improved battery life for small devices.

Overall... above the average, but far from the leading edge.
