In this book, we continue the hunt for the 39 clues scattered around the globe, which have caused war within the Cahill family. The cover contains highly classified hints that are one of the three paths to unlocking clues: books, cards and missons. This story is more than that, it is also more info about the Cahill family itself. My favourite part is when Amy and Dan find a Janus (one of the Cahill branches) headquarters and are chased by at least half of the Janus branch. I want to read those other eight stories now!

Man I love this series! I have always been a fan of the Young Adult Fantasy Genre - Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, Tamora Pierce... and this series is definitely in the same league.

A very easy, light read that doesn't assume it's audience is in any way lacking in intelligence. In fact, it is quite the opposite. With all the clues, fascinating facts, cards, intrigue and likable heroes (and equally despisable villians), this book left me with a smile and ready to pick up the next one as soon as I have a spare moment.

Top Marks. I highly recommend it!

Remember what Dan Brown did for adults? It got them engrossed in reading the book, talking about the book and itching to get 'over there' to discover the set for real.
This is Dan Brown for kids - but better. Clues and puzzles for them to solve and work through and written in such a fast paced manner that I managed to finish this book off in little over an hour and has me nagging my daughter to switch the light out (and this is from someone who is reluctant to read!)

Read the book, work through the puzzles and have fun is the real aim of the book. The prizes are (or should be) secondary.

Despite being written by a different author (as I understand all the books will be) it flowed seamlessly from one to the other - in such a way I am not sure I can wait until the release of book three.

As my fellow reviewer also noticed was clues hidden in the pages of the book and you really do need to take particular notice of every little detail. Those clues will help to lead you further into the book and deeper into the puzzles.

When a book like this comes along, it is hard not to give full marks. But a whole series of them? You have to decide for yourself.

Yup... at it again, raiding the young lad's collection for more 'light reading'... LOL Icon

You see, I have kinda become hooked on the whole thing... the website, the books, the cards... it's all quite cool... and the best bit for me are the tonnes of hidden clues and puzzles... even on cards that claim NOT to have embedded puzzles! What I really enjoy is looking at the artwork on the cards and spotting all the hidden clues, messages, icons and symbols... it really is like a modern day treasure hunt! Indiana Jones, eat ya heart out!

This book is an excellent follow-on from Book 1, and even though written by an author who normally has a very different style, it flowed seamlessly into the 'vibe and rhythm' set up by Riordan. The characters stay true-to-form yet reveal a little more about themselves and the interactions grow more realistic as the challenges mount up.

Personally, I was quite impressed with how the reading of this book helped my son learn history, geography, and a bit of social studies... as a home-schooled child, it's important that he gets his 'dose of education' in new and exciting ways... and this is certainly a method of delivery he has become just as hooked on as his dad. He has even become quite adept at basic cryptography, which will make this year's Christmas Present Treasure Hunt even more fun and challenging.

Overall, another great installment... with a little something extra hidden in it... HINT: every now and then, check what page you are on. Wink Icon

"But this multi-tasking business has a large downside. I find myself never really living in the moment, free-falling from one 'must do' to the next. I love life. I want our family life to be rich, vibrant, alive, full of adventure. But how do you make this a ... more...
