The 39 Clues - Cahill Files - Spymasters product reviews

In 1814, redcoats burned the White House to the ground. In 1889 Harry Houdini discovered a trick that would save his life. In 1955, the U.S launched the worlds first nuclear submarine. And one family pulled the strings behind the scenes at each of these events: the Cahills - the most powerful family the world has ever known.

Now the Cahills have opened their vault, and dangerous secrets are pouring out. This book contains three of them - three stories that will change history as we know it forever. Flee alongside a young Cahill as Washington burns, unlock Harry Houdini's magic, and stow away with young Fiske Cahill on a desperate that could cost him his life.

Venture into the vault if you dare. But don't say we didn't warn you.

The Cahill Files. A name that is bound to evoke questions. Who are the Cahills and what do they do? Why the security? Most of these questions are answered in due course or in another book in this incredible series. The Cahill Files are a collection of top-secret files on the history of the Cahill family. The letter at the beginning of the book explains a lot of things about this book giving a basic overview into this book.

The cover is a work of art combining a title and a vault. It is exceptionally detailed and looks rather 3D as well. The first secret of the files is of a special mission and also the secret of one of the bloodiest wars yet. Then is a tale of a youth in a tough town with more than a few secrets... The final most dangerous and exciting of the files includes one of the most dangerous man-made machines yet.

Each document/story has a different sense of excitement, betrayal and many other emotions besides. As each story ends another begins because of this and because this book doesn't really have anything to do with the other books and merely gives information it doesn't need to be read in conjunction with the other books in this series.

All of these stories have something in common, and that is the winding plot and endless excitements and surprises that pop up. The is no plot or link between the parts except for the involvement of Cahills yet they all somehow fit together with each other. Some of the chapters may be slightly scary or disturbing for younger children but this is a great book and is a neat little addition to the 39 Clues series.

This book was extremely fun to read, Unlike the first book in this series, this book had a bit more action in it, and there were also 3 stories squeezed between the covers, whereas book 1 was only 1 story! I liked this factor because it meant that there was triple the amount of entertainment in it; and I know for a fact that the three stories in the book are also sold online and possibly in book stores elsewhere as separate books. The storyline flowed well, I was kept on my toes and never got bored at any point while reading this book.

The cover design is awesome, I love how the publishers always manage to make a different design for each different book, and still manage to make them look cool! The book sounded historically accurate, minus the obviously fictional parts. The characters sounded very real, they matched the "attitude" of the time they were placed in, for example, in story 1 (The Redcoat Chase) the Redcoats were ruthless and solder-like as the history books say, and in story 3 (The Submarine Job) the atmosphere of the story gave me a convincing taste of what it is like in that time. This is a story (or rather, a collection of stories) that I will be more that willing to read again when an opportunity presents itself.

The price is awesome, the book is very much worth the money that the sellers want, so there are no rip-offs here, gentlemen. My overall opinion on this book is: author, you have made one AWESOME pile of stories! Enjoy.
