Codenames: Harry Potter features the gameplay from Codenames Duet, with players working together to reveal all the right cards before they run out of time or summon Lord Voldemort or another dark wizard.
The cards that players need to guess feature a word or phrase on one side and an image on the other.

A friend of mine had brought round Codenames: Disney, to try with me and I enjoyed it enough that when I saw a copy of Codenames: Harry Potter for sale, I figured I would grab it seeing as how my family and I have watched the films several times (and I have read the books more times than I can count). The game is easy to set up, give the tiles a shuffle and then lay them out as per the instructions. Depending on your other players capabilities, you can have the illustration side face up for each tile, or have a mix of words and images. Thus far, we've stuck with images so far, maybe when the kids are older we'll challenge ourselves more.
The good thing about this game, is that you don't have to be well versed in the world of Harry Potter, just make sure that you know what level of world knowledge your fellow player has before you start as you might know the name of the various creatures but that won't help them if they don't. That's where you can say slightly more vague words such as 'pink', 'mythical', 'danger', 'wand' and so on. We have been caught out a few times, sometimes the other player notices something you don't and think it applies to the clue. The game is designed that you only have a limited number of turns, but you can give a clue and relate that to several cards, however so far the kids and I haven't felt it necessary to add that to the game, perhaps one day but for now we're happy to take our time.
