Killer is Dead product reviews

Killer is Dead is set in a not-so-distant future similar to (but not the same as) the world we know now. The player takes control of an executioner named Mondo Zappa who wields a Japanese sword in his right hand and brandishes interchangeable weapons in his left artificial arm. His ultimate goal is to execute various heinous criminals scattered around the world and beyond.

I usually love games which are based around shooting people etc so I was very keen to review Killer is Dead. How fun to be able to play a game where you can execute people with a sword! However I was sadly disappointed in the whole game.

The animation was completely different to what you come to expect for high graphic games these days it was more Japanese cartoon style. It is something completely different and is quite novel effect for a game. It made for interesting playing but didn't pull you into the game as well as other games do, it is not as believable as some games you play.

The characters are an interesting arrange of people/creatures. The main character who you play as is Mondo who wields a sword, he lost his left arm some stage in the past but we never find out when or what happened. He is supported by his assistant Mika who is so over excited and over the top she can be very annoying. She does come in handy though when you fail and she jumps in to bring you back to life! There is a number of other characters too that pop up throughout the game.

There is a lot of back story in between missions but I found these very confusing and they didn't really add anything to the game. each mission seemed to very confusing and it was a matter of trail and error to find out just what to do at each stage. With each mission Mondo is contracted to execute someone, on his mission to find them there are lots of creatures standing in his way. These are very easy to kill and the only real challenge comes in when you meet up with the person you were contracted to kill.

As confusing as it was there are some good parts and that's how much fun it is the slash and kill those that attack you. Was a nice change from shooting people. I enjoyed wielding a sword for a change, I would recommend the game to anyone who wants to try out something a little different. I would probably recommend hiring the game and trying it out before buying it. I will continue to play it myself when I want to do some mindless sword wielding!
