Product reviews...
This is one of the best racing games that I have played. This is probably one of the more realistic racing games that I have played in a long time and I have to say that in this reviewers eyes that is something to aspire to. One of the things that I have enjoyed most about the game is that you have to unlock in it the different stages with different skills and I think that this is what is making the game worth while I suppose it has been on the market for a while now but I have to say I have not had this much fun with a racing game in a long time. Even my Gf got into it. Dare I say that she has beaten me on one occasion as well .
Just a great game!
Now don't let that score put you off... this would have to be one of the most awesome 1st-person driving games out there. With the power and sheer rendering-grunt of the Xbox console, would would expect nothing less.
This score is simply because I am a LOUSY virtual-driver and spend more time trying to leave as much of my car attached to the scenery as possible... a bumper on the wall, rubber spread thick upon the asphalt, muffler and suspension parts strewn down the road like breadcrumbs... that's me in a driving game. (Thankfully I am a tad better than that on the real road, or I wouldn't have a car left!)
The scenery, high level of resolution, awesome soundz... it's all good in PGR2. If you can handle the virtual car as smoothly as a rally driver handles a real car, you'll find this game truely mind-blowing. Then throw in Xbox LIVE for that extra immersion factor and you have a kick-arse gaming experience.
Overall, though I SUCKED big-time at this game, so had to give it lower-than-expected scores, I do feel that those dedicated drivers out there will find this game to be the current benchmark against which all others shall be judged, and in most cases found sadly lacking.
Burn rubber guys... the cops can't bust you for blowing around in THESE buggies!
