Having just had a bad episode while building a kitset bike, I can really appreciate a reference book like this. With comprehensive coverage of every part of road and mountain bikes, plus a range of optional parts that you may have purchased that are non-factory-standard. The details are down to the individual components, screws, threaded rings, bearings, you name it, it's covered.

Complete with helpful tips and tricks to keep your bike in top-notch performance, how to minimise wear and tear and the chances of accidental or incidental damage, this really does cover all the bases. Little things, like slipping a small section of inner-tube over the bearings where your front forks pass through the frame, to prevent mud and grime seeping in and abrading the bearings themselves... just one of the many useful little tidbits scattered throughout.

Overall, if you have ANY interest in bicycling, and your bike is worth more than a McD's happy meal, you really would be well advised to buy this book, as it could easily save you spending hundreds to a bike workshop to do the little things you can easily do yourself with this at hand.

For her piggery...
